Episode 8 recap: Promise broke up with Peng Yu'an. Zhao Jin went to Promise's house to drink.
Promise, feeling heartbroken, found Zhao Jin. Promise couldn't control her emotions anymore and proposed a breakup to Zhao Jin, which surprised him. Zhao Jin insisted on sending the cat away, but his sister refused. To ease the awkwardness between them, Promise suggested taking the cat to her place. Promise went directly to Zhao Jin's house.
Zhao Jin sensed Promise's sadness and took her out for noodles. They went to a noodle restaurant they often visited, but Zhao Jin didn't eat because he had already had dinner. Promise asked Zhao Jin if it was burdensome for him to stay in touch with her. Zhao Jin honestly admitted that it was a significant burden. Promise changed the subject, suggesting going to the coffee shop on West Street after dinner. She also asked if Zhao Jin would let her stay with him if she didn't go home at night. Zhao Jin found it strange that Promise was being so bold and saying anything today.
