Episode 8 recap: Zhou Tianze confessed his feelings to Chen Ruohua.
As Chen Ruohua walked and contemplated the words Zhou Tianze had spoken, she thought that if she didn't accept him now, it meant he hadn't done enough. He would surely redouble his efforts to continue pursuing her. Qin Feng noticed that Anxin still drew the curtains every day and couldn't help but get angry with her. Zhao Xiufang had intended to advise her daughter, but Anxin told her mother that Qin Feng hadn't touched her since they returned from the hospital.
Zhao Xiufang went to the gym to exercise, and when Lin Tianyu saw that she seemed down, he asked her what was wrong. Zhao Xiufang then shared the pain Anxin had endured overnight, and she also stayed up with her. Upon hearing Zhao Xiufang's words, Lin Tianyu immediately guessed it was phantom limb pain and spoke some very professional words, which surprised Zhao Xiufang and earned him the nickname "Lin the Understander."
Zhao Xiufang felt quite embarrassed and confessed to Lin Tianyu that she had previously regarded him as a fraud and had engaged in a battle of wits with him, thinking he was a quack. But she hadn't expected him to be a good person. Lin Tianyu didn't want to listen to sentimental words from Zhao Xiufang, so he told her that if she felt he was a satisfactory coach, she should pay him for the lessons.
As soon as Zhao Xiufang heard him mention money, she hurriedly reminded him that he had refunded the money earlier out of consideration for Anxin's face, and he couldn't go back on his word. Qin Feng fell asleep on the sofa, and seeing his son so exhausted, both Old Qin and his wife felt very sorry for him. Qin's mother even asked if he had any thoughts of divorce, but Old Qin stopped her. After returning home, Zhao Xiufang had already prepared dinner, but during the meal, the atmosphere was very heavy, and no one spoke.
While washing the dishes, Zhao Xiufang told Qin Feng, who had come to help, that he shouldn't sleep on the sofa anymore and should stay in her room instead. Qin Feng understood that this was Anxin's intention and didn't refuse. Chen Ruohua was thinking about Xiaodong's words and considering keeping her distance from Zhou Kaize in the future. However, Zhou Kaize suddenly called her and invited her to go to Qingdao for a business trip. After a brief hesitation, Chen Ruohua eventually agreed.
On the train, Zhou Kaize suddenly confessed his feelings to Chen Ruohua. He also told her that if she didn't accept him now, it meant he hadn't done enough, and he would double his efforts to continue pursuing her. Qin Feng noticed that Anxin still drew the curtains every day and couldn't help but get angry with her. Zhao Xiufang had intended to advise her daughter, but Anxin told her mother that Qin Feng hadn't touched her since they returned from the hospital.
The reason she stayed hidden in the house was simply to use her last bit of strength to maintain her dignity.
Qin Feng left Anxin's room and couldn't help but recall his mother's words. She had suggested that having a child might help him and Anxin to continue their relationship. Old Qin and his wife came to visit Anxin, and Qin's mother brought up the idea of them having a child. However, Old Qin didn't want to discuss that topic. Qin's mother was worried about Qin Feng's deteriorating health and suggested that he go live with his parents. Upon hearing the conversation outside, Qin Feng hurriedly approached and urged his mother to leave.
Once they were downstairs, he complained that his mother shouldn't have said such things, as he was concerned that her words would upset Anxin. However, Qin's mother believed that if it came to it, they could simply get a divorce and thought it was inevitable. After returning upstairs, Zhao Xiufang suggested that Qin Feng go live with his parents and said it was Anxin's wish. Qin Feng went along with it and left without resistance.
After Qin Feng left, Anxin saw her mother wiping her tears and couldn't help but comfort her, saying that it was for the best for both of them because Qin Feng couldn't accept her current condition. After returning from Qingdao, Chen Ruohua's heart was filled with happiness. During dinner, she and Zhou Kaize exchanged constant text messages. Zhou Kaize asked Chen Ruohua if she knew why he liked eating fish, and it was because he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Upon hearing Zhou Kaize's answer, Anxin couldn't help but smile.
Zhao Xiuli saw her daughter smiling and deliberately asked if she had found a job. She expressed her hope that Chen Ruohua wouldn't find a job in Beijing because the housing prices there were too expensive. If Chen Ruohua worked in Beijing, it would imply that she didn't want to live with her unless she found a local boyfriend in Beijing. While Zhao Xiuli was talking, she noticed that Chen Ruohua was wearing headphones, ignoring her words, so she couldn't help but pull the headphones off.
Zhao Xiuli also told Chen Ruohua that as a girl who lacked a family and good looks, it would be impossible for her to attract local men with better conditions. She advised her to go back home and find a job. Hearing her mother's nagging, Chen Ruohua replied somewhat defiantly that someone was pursuing her now. She claimed to have a boyfriend, and seeing that her provocation had worked, Zhao Xiuli asked her to bring her boyfriend home to meet them.
I really like Yang Chaoyue's portrayal of Chen Ruohua. At first, I felt like her mother didn't love her, didn't care about her, and placed all her love on her younger brother.
She always felt neglected and overlooked. It was only when her brother tragically passed away that her mother could only direct her love towards herself, and then she could understand the suffocating feeling her brother had.
She had no freedom at all. The way she depicted the emotions and character was vivid and immersive, instantly drawing viewers in.
I had a strong emotional response while watching tonight's eighth episode, and I'd like to express some thoughts briefly: Regardless of whether it's driven by love, responsibility, or moral support, Qin Feng shouldn't be blamed to such an extent.
It's a tremendous torment for both the person involved and the caregiver when such things happen within the family. At a time like this, both parties need to learn to accept reality and gradually adapt to the new life.
In the drama, Qin Feng's behavior clearly indicates his efforts to change and adapt, but An Xin has been unable to accept reality and hasn't provided positive feedback to Qin Feng.
It would be difficult for anyone to persist in such circumstances.
An Xin showed Qin Feng his most beautiful side before the accident, but also exposed him to the worst side after the accident.
According to the plot outline, in the end, Lin Da should understand and accept An Xin because she showed him the most beautiful side after the accident. If An Xin had shown this side to Qin Feng earlier, he might have been able to persevere until the end.
It is a TV drama that closely reflects the theme of "growth" in reality. "Growth" knows no boundaries of age or gender; it requires learning, adapting, and maturing at every stage of life!
The series starts with intense conflicts and collisions, and then the characters gradually shatter and reassemble. This process of mutual support and self-rescue provides new strength to many people in real life!
The actors portrayed their roles with great emotion! Especially the parent-child relationship between Zhao Xiu Li and Chen Ruo Hua struck a chord and resonated deeply.
I'm very grateful to them for portraying this state and offering a way out of this conflicting situation. It triggered profound reflections among those who are experiencing similar parent-child relationships in real life, allowing more unhealthy parent-child relationships to move towards a healthier state!
It's an excellent piece of work!
After watching the first few episodes, I can really understand the ex-husband. I had a boyfriend before who went bankrupt shortly after we got together. I was earning 20,000 yuan a month and asked him to work, but he refused, thinking he was born to be a boss.
He would drink every night and sleep during the day. For over a year, I supported him with my 4,500 yuan salary. He would drink all night, which seriously affected my normal life and work. We broke up later, and whenever I talked about it with others, they would say that I looked down on him because he was poor.
But the truth is, he had no light in him. He was like a bottomless black hole, constantly pulling me into it. My life was already not easy, but with him, I couldn't even see the sun anymore.
