Episode 16 recap: Murong Cang wanted to send Yun Jiao out of the city.
Yun Jiao held a chrysanthemum and mourned by the riverside for Fu Gui. Fu Gui had once been imprisoned to save Yun Jiao and had done many things for her. Murong Cang also came to mourn Fu Gui's death and hadn't had a chance to thank him yet, but Fu Gui had already left. In fact, a long time ago, Fu Gui was just a lowly eunuch who struggled to make ends meet in the palace.
Until he met Murong Cang, who saw the innocence in Fu Gui and kept him by his side. However, Murong Cang never expected that Fu Gui would leave him first, and he felt guilty. Yun Jiao said beside them that she knew Murong Cang was her "wooden brother," even though she didn't understand why he refused to admit it. But she believed in him nonetheless.
This time, Murong Cang didn't argue. He took out the bracelet that Yun Jiao had given him years ago. Seeing the bracelet, Yun Jiao suddenly remembered that if the future she had seen was real, Murong Cang would truly lose his life because of her. She couldn't imagine what would happen next. After returning home, Murong Cang said he would send someone to escort Yun Jiao out of the city. However, Yun Jiao refused.
After all, Yun Jiao sincerely fell in love with Murong Cang and had been waiting for so long to finally recognize him as her "wooden brother." She didn't understand why Murong Cang would drive her away. But Murong Cang coldly said that everything would end soon. He then presented the evidence of General Hu's corruption to the emperor. Originally, he wanted to bring General Hu to justice as revenge for Fu Gui. However, the emperor said that the matter was too complicated, and they needed to deliberate further before taking action against General Hu. Murong Cang had no choice but to leave, filled with hatred in his eyes.
