Episode 9 recap: Yunjiao received a letter from her wooden brother.
Yunjiao's sudden inquiry left Murong Zang unsure of what to say. Yunjiao was eagerly hoping that Murong Zang was her wooden brother. Murong Zang covered Yunjiao's eyes with a red string, just like when they were children. He whispered in Yunjiao's ear, confessing that he was not her wooden brother. However, Yunjiao noticed too many inconsistencies. The things she liked to eat, the stationery, and the red string were all things only her wooden brother would know.
Nevertheless, Murong Zang claimed that her wooden brother had asked him to deliver a letter to her. Murong Zang had known for a while that Yunjiao was starting to doubt him, so he had prepared the stationery in advance. After reading the letter, Yunjiao was in tears. She wiped her tears and told Murong Zang that she had learned that her stone brother had gotten married and had his own wife, which made her very happy.
Murong Zang sincerely apologized to Yunjiao, who smiled in response but felt deeply saddened inside, something Murong Zang was unaware of. Suddenly, Yunjiao grabbed Murong Zang's hand and noticed that he still had the red string wrapped around it. Yunjiao was momentarily stunned. Murong Zang asked her to come home with him, and this time, Yunjiao did not refuse but obediently stayed by his side.
Yunjiao had initially wanted to help Murong Zang with great care, but she was often careless. Nevertheless, Yunjiao felt happy just being with Murong Zang. However, Murong Zang mentioned that Yunjiao was currently in a female body, so it would be better for them not to sleep together. The next day, Yunjiao couldn't stop thinking about Murong Zang's expression from the previous day when Xueqing suddenly approached her. Xueqing was eagerly anticipating being tied up by Murong Zang and even asked Yunjiao to tie her up, just as Murong Zang had done to himself. She wanted to experience it in advance.
Yunjiao was simply making up stories, so she had to improvise. Just then, Murong Zang arrived. He took Yunjiao away, and she finally breathed a sigh of relief. When Yunjiao arrived, Murong Zang noticed the marks on her neck and personally applied medicine to her wounds. Xueqing witnessed this scene and became even angrier. Shortly after, Fugui came to inform Yunjiao that she was summoned by the Emperor. Yunjiao had no idea what the Emperor's intentions were, but she had no choice but to go and meet him.
During their conversation, they suddenly received a letter from a subordinate, causing Yunjiao to worry about Murong Zang's safety.
