Episode 12 recap: The Bride of Yin and Yang (Part 2).
The Yin and Yang Bride (Chinese). With red makeup and a ribbon tied in a double knot, like intertwined blossoms on a green tree, the melodies of the qin (a traditional Chinese musical instrument) composed a shared dream-like language. A thousand miles of marriage fate connected them by a single thread.
The woman in red handed the pen to Jin Tan Yu, who looked at it with confusion. He approached and asked about the origin of the pen. The woman in red truthfully revealed that the pen was a gift from Su Qing. Upon hearing this, Jin Tan Yu became extremely excited. Su Qing had left him in the past because he was poor and followed another man, but now she was sending him a pen. Now that he had become successful and married into the Cui family, why was she entangling him again? When Jin Tan Yu heard the news of Su Qing's death, he felt deeply saddened and involuntarily recalled their past deep affection. Little did he know, Su Qing had already reached the late stage of tuberculosis and had to cruelly part ways with Jin Tan Yu, using the excuse that her family had already arranged a marriage for her. But now, seeing everything in the Illusion Pavilion, he understood that he had always been busy with his paintings and had no idea that his beloved was sick. It wasn't until he saw Su Qing's weak body in the illusion that he finally realized his misunderstanding of her. He had thought she was just a woman driven by ambition and had rejected him because he was poor. However, Su Qing had loved him deeply and had always lingered in the mortal world, only wanting to spend more time with Jin Tan Yu. Upon learning the truth, Jin Tan Yu collapsed to the ground, unable to hold himself together any longer.
