Episode 7 recap: Song Huaining was humiliated by her younger sister, Wan Zhen.
Initially, Duan Xunchu sent Lin Wenyu back to the Duan family's old residence. While in the car, Duan Xunchu expressed dissatisfaction with her closeness to Huaining and didn't believe that she was only investigating the Song family. When he attempted to forcefully kiss Lin Wenyu, he was rejected. At this moment, Lin Wenyu also realized that his visit to the Song family was for investigation purposes, and her role as the family doctor would be advantageous for the investigation. Lin Wenyu got out of the car, looked at the Duan family's old residence in front of her, and recalled the scene of the Duan family being exterminated that day, with her brother sacrificing his life to distract the assailants.
The next day, Lin Wenyu prepared breakfast early for Duan Xunchu, recalling that he used to love eating the snacks she made when they were younger. Bi Tao handed the medicine intended for Huaining to Wan Zhen, who immediately threw it away, falsely accusing it of being fake.
Lin Wenyu understood her intentions and was about to lose her temper when Huaining, who had arrived, stopped her. However, Wan Zhen didn't regard her adoptive brother in high regard and began to humiliate him with disrespectful words. When he showed signs of getting physical, Wan Zhen threatened to go home and report to their father. Lin Wenyu directly ordered Bi Tao to drive Wan Zhen away. Afterwards, Lin Wenyu and Song Huaining went to a roadside stall to have a meal. It turned out that Huaining had never cared about Wan Zhen and had gotten used to it.
While looking at the chaos in front of them, Huaining remembered how she used to come here often for chaos when she was young. Just as they were happily eating together, Duan Xunchu caught them.
