Episode 22 recap: Yingying searches for Changqing's memories.

Yingying entered with Jiang's mother, and upon seeing her faint, she had no choice but to reveal her true identity. She fought against the fox demon at all costs, determined to help Changqing. Finally, Yingying and Changqing were married, but the Heartlessness Curse still took effect. On their wedding night, Changqing's old illness resurfaced, and Yingying sacrificed herself to save him. Changqing had no recollection of Yingying at all, while Yan'er became increasingly unreasonable. In order to help Changqing regain his memories and make him remember her sooner, Yingying recounted every little detail of their time together—how they played with roses, went shopping for candied hawthorns, and did so many things together. Yingying guided Changqing through these experiences, hoping to trigger his memories. Though Changqing didn't remember her, he fell in love with Yingying again.

The deeper their love grew, the more easily the Heartlessness Curse would manifest. There was simply no way to lift the curse. The deeper Changqing fell in love with Yingying, the deeper the poison of the curse became. He couldn't hold on any longer and ended up spitting blood in front of Yingying. Helpless, Yingying had no choice but to seek out the fox demon. In order to save Changqing, Yan'er even went so far as to kneel down, willing to endure any mistreatment without complaint.

Yan'er threatened Yingying with Changqing's life, saying that if she didn't give him the medicine, he would eventually die from spitting blood and wouldn't live to see another day. In order to save Changqing, on their wedding night, Yingying resolutely fed him the antidote. As she looked at Changqing in front of her, her heart felt as though it were being cut by a knife. This way, Changqing would completely forget about Yingying. With a heart filled with indescribable sorrow, Yingying slowly departed. Changqing looked at the unfamiliar yet familiar figure before him, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember.
