Episode 4 recap: Liu Ying Ying was scolded by the Matchmaker.
Jiang Chang Qing and Liu Ying Ying were walking on the street. The woman in white clothes took off her mask, revealing herself to be Jiang Chang Qing's cousin. The fox spirit Xiao Jiu hid in the shadows and tried to cause an accident to harm Liu Ying Ying. However, Jiang Chang Qing protected her with his body, and Xiao Jiu was pushed down by the people who came to rescue them.
Xiao Jiu complained to the Nine-Tailed Fox, who told her not to act rashly and to wait until she broke through the seal before dealing with them. The Nine-Tailed Fox also instructed Xiao Jiu to continue preventing Tian Xi Hong Luan from rekindling her previous relationship. Jiang Chang Qing woke up and found Liu Ying Ying by his bedside. He asked her to pour water for him, and she did, but accidentally spilled it on the bed. Jiang Chang Qing's cousin brought chicken soup and saw the two of them struggling, so she asked what they were doing.
The cousin asked Liu Ying Ying to step aside and fed Jiang Chang Qing the chicken soup herself. Liu Ying Ying obediently moved aside, but Jiang Chang Qing wanted her to feed him instead. The cousin refused, and in the midst of their struggle, the chicken soup spilled all over the floor. Jiang Chang Qing kicked both of them out of the room.
Liu Ying Ying was in the room trying to find a way to get closer to Jiang Chang Qing. The Matchmaker criticized her for not being able to win over Jiang Chang Qing in a month and called her useless. Liu Ying Ying complained that Jiang Chang Qing was too difficult to handle. The Matchmaker told her that once the mission was completed, she could become a regular member. This motivated Liu Ying Ying immediately. The three of them went boating on the lake, and Liu Ying Ying deliberately created an opportunity for Jiang Chang Qing to interact with his cousin. When the cousin accidentally touched Jiang Chang Qing's hand, he had a seizure, and she fell into the lake by accident.
