Episode 9 recap: Cheng Yao is lobbying Qian Heng for the case.
Cheng Xi invited Wu Jun to dinner, hoping to prevent her sister from being mistreated at work. Cheng Xi didn't want to bring up anything about Deng Ming and their past relationship since they are already divorced. She believed that she would have a chance to help Cheng Yao seek revenge in the future. After Cheng Yao returned home, she saw the house in a messy state of destruction. Qian Heng claimed it was done by a puppy, but Cheng Yao had already seen through and knew it was Qian Heng's doing.

Wu Jun offered to help Cheng Xi peel the potatoes but ended up being more of a hindrance. Cheng Xi quickly ended the conversation with her aunt and came out. After coming out, Wu Jun asked Cheng Xi about what happened that night and then made an excuse to invite her to dinner. Cheng Xi temporarily declined because she was busy with work.
Little did they know, Deng Ming had been secretly sending people to track their movements. Deng Ming was jealous when he discovered that Cheng Xi had moved on and was living a new life. At the company, some people wanted Cheng Yao to help with other cases, and Tan Ying clearly saw it as bullying Cheng Yao.
