Episode 17 recap: Chu Xin and Yan Zhen reconciled.
Chu Xin was confident when she revealed that the ruby was bought for her by Chu Zejia, concluding that Chu Ze'an was Chu Zejia. However, Chu Ze'an reminded Chu Xin that Chu Zejia never cared about jewelry and did not support Chu Xin's interest in metaphysics. He pointed out that Chu Xin had bought it herself and had Chu Zejia give it to her. This argument was flawless, leaving Chu Xin speechless. Chu Xin hadn't had a late-night chat with Yan Zhen for a long time, and she remembered the first time Yan Zhen stayed overnight at Chu's house. She insisted on sleeping together with Yan Zhen and they ended up talking until four in the morning. The next day, Yan Zhen had to get up early for work, which made Chu Xin feel nostalgic.
Chu Xin was always grateful to Yan Zhen for tutoring her for free, which enabled her to successfully attend college. However, Yan Zhen believed that it was the result of Chu Xin's hard work and didn't take credit for it. Suddenly, Chu Xin felt a headache, and when Yan Zhen pressed her temples, she mentioned that she felt as if Chu Zejia was always with them. Yan Zhen admired Chu Xin's intuition and agreed with her belief that Chu Zejia would accompany them no matter where they were.
Upon learning that Chu Xin was at the hotel, Gu Cheng deliberately rushed over to accompany her. They enjoyed nature together, but there were many mosquitoes in the area. Chu Xin applied ointment to Gu Cheng's skin with her own hands, warming his heart. He took the initiative to hold Chu Xin's hand and take her to another place. Early in the morning, Chu Ze'an came to find Yan Zhen and invited her to go out and have fun. Yan Zhen initially worried that Chu Xin would be unhappy if she didn't come along, but Chu Ze'an had a deeper intention. He wanted to give the paparazzi a satisfying story, and Yan Zhen went along with it.
