Episode 4 recap: Yan Zhen repeatedly tested Chu Ze'an.
Yan Zhen and Chu Zejia met under a big tree. She distinctly remembered that Chu Zejia didn't like ginger soda, so she intentionally brought a drink with ginger for Chu Ze'an. When he indeed refused, her suspicion grew stronger. However, Chu Ze'an had already seen through her intentions and directly stated that their familiarity was merely a coincidence, advising Yan Zhen not to think too much about it. Yan Zhen tried every means to convince Chu Ze'an to become her bodyguard, promising him an unclear condition in return. She secretly stole Chu Ze'an's access card and, with the cover of Gu Cheng, entered the archives of An Shi Group. Just as she found some information, she received a warning from Gu Cheng, urging her to leave quickly.
Chu Ze'an discovered that his access card was missing, and only then did he realize Yan Zhen's true intention of wanting him to be her bodyguard. He immediately rushed to An Shi Group. When Yan Zhen was about to be discovered by someone, he pulled her behind a secure door, covering her mouth and gesturing for her to stay quiet. This familiar scene triggered Yan Zhen's memories, reminding her of her acquaintance with Chu Zejia. Chu Ze'an took Yan Zhen away from An Shi Group, intentionally turning up the volume of the car's audio system to prevent anyone from eavesdropping on their conversation. He warned Yan Zhen to be careful of Gu Cheng, but she wasn't willing to listen. She even tried to test Chu Ze'an using alcohol, but he had already secretly added an antidote to the drink, so he wouldn't have an allergic reaction.
Yan Zhen, unwilling to accept defeat, pretended to be drunk and mistook Chu Ze'an for Chu Zejia, but he saw through her act.
