Episode 6 recap: Chu Ze'an was injured while saving Yan Zhen.
Gu Cheng gave a man with a lame leg an envelope in the Chu family garden, warning him not to make any more moves, or else he wouldn't be protected next time. As he returned to the entrance of the Chu residence, he coincidentally ran into Yan Zhen coming out. Unable to resist, he reminded Yan Zhen to be careful of Chu Ze'an. Yan Zhen indicated that she was aware and quickly went to the tree where Chu Zejia and she had their first kiss.
Chu Ze'an saw that her location was moving and realized that she had gone there. He followed from a distance, watching Yan Zhen. Yan Zhen stood beneath the tree, reminiscing about the beautiful past with Chu Zejia and feeling a bit nostalgic. Chu Ze'an wanted to give Yan Zhen a clue, and he saw her start measuring steps with her feet. After walking five steps, she dug out a box from the ground. It was a password box. Yan Zhen thought of the meaningful password Chu Zejia had during their relationship. She successfully opened the box and, after reading the letter inside, felt that she should perhaps let go of Chu Zejia.
Yan Zhen walked through the garage, holding the wooden box. Two burly men were quietly following her from behind. Startled and frightened, Yan Zhen promptly contacted Chu Ze'an. Chu Ze'an immediately rushed to the garage. After Yan Zhen used a self-defense spray to incapacitate one of the men, Chu Ze'an stepped in and blocked the other man's attack. However, he was stabbed by the man with a dagger. Chu Ze'an's injury wasn't life-threatening, and he would recover after resting in the hospital for a few days. At this moment, he was in a state of unconsciousness, murmuring "Yan Yan" in his sleep. Yan Zhen stayed by his bedside, listening to his words, and decided to undergo a genetic test to confirm Chu Ze'an's identity.
