Episode 6 recap: Zhong Yi had an incident.
County Mayor Qi made a speech here, stating that Lanhe County would be abolished and upgraded to a district, which is a monumental achievement. County Mayor Qi came to the Public Security Bureau to express that he knew they had their own system for handling cases, but he couldn't just stand by and let him become a scapegoat for Lanhe. The bureau chief said that Mayor Qi had brought this hat for him, so he should wear it well. In 1990, Yang Si came to find his ex-wife. Yang Si's ex-wife was selling some small items here with a child. Because she couldn't take care of the child, she had to tie the child up and keep him by her side.
Yang Si followed his ex-wife, and at first, his ex-wife thought he was a robber and was about to attack him, but when she saw it was Yang Si, she stopped. Yang Si's ex-wife asked the child to call him father, but the child refused. Yang Si thought it was okay and that the child would get used to it. Guan Yu and the others were originally planning to return, but the snow here is too heavy now, so they can't go back. They made a phone call to have someone investigate Yang Si's situation at the wholesale market.
Zhong Yi asked Guan Yu why they didn't tell them that Yang Si was a fake. Guan Yu explained that they didn't have substantial evidence yet, and telling them would only make them worry. It would be better to investigate the matter thoroughly first. Zhong Yi and the others went to Wang Shan's house to inquire, only to learn that Wang Shan hadn't been home for quite some time, according to the neighbors.
Regarding the incident with the Audi car, Wang Shan's father initially wanted to deny it and said his son was not capable of such a thing, but the neighbors saw it. Zhong Yi asked them about the color of the Audi, and they said it was a black Audi, the same car they were investigating before. After Zhong Yi and the others left, Wang Shan's grandmother freed him from the cellar and gave him some money, urging him to leave quickly.
When Wang Shan left, he took the shaving razor with him. Zhong Yi got into the car and asked Xiao Zhao to wait here. Xiao Zhao noticed that something was not right and followed them. Zhong Yi waited for a long time, but Xiao Zhao didn't return. When he called Xiao Zhao, he heard his phone ringing in the alley.
Zhong Yi entered the alley and found that Xiao Zhao had already been injured. He quickly called an ambulance.
Liao Yuan and his team discovered that the key had indeed been reissued. They went to inquire and learned that the lock was an imported, high-end one that couldn't be duplicated there, but there was a place in the county that could do it. Sun Guoliang was brought over by the Red Guards, who asked if he still dared to compete for the project. Sun Guoliang was shocked and pleaded with the Red Guards, saying he would never dare to do it again. The Red Guards chopped off one of Sun Guoliang's fingers. When Sun Guoliang saw Liao Yuan and his team on their way back, he desperately pleaded for their help, and Liao Yuan let him get in the car.
Zhong Yi called Liao Yuan and informed him that he had detected the signal of Yang Xue Song's cellphone and wanted to go and take a look. He asked Liao Yuan to call for support from the headquarters. Xiao Zhao was injured and had already been taken to the hospital. Liao Yuan became very anxious upon hearing this and mentioned that the gun had not been found yet, and Yang Xue Song might still be armed. He advised Zhong Yi not to go alone, but Zhong Yi hung up the phone.
It would take the headquarters approximately 10 minutes to arrive, so Liao Yuan hurriedly rushed over. When Liao Yuan arrived at the station, he placed Sun Guoliang down and quickly proceeded. When Zhong Yi arrived, he encountered Wang Shan and attempted to apprehend him. However, Wang Shan used the shaving razor to slash Zhong Yi's throat.
County Mayor Qi made a speech, expressing that the conversion of Lanhe into a district was a great achievement that would be remembered for generations. County Mayor Qi went to the Public Security Bureau Director to acknowledge that they had their own system for handling cases, but he couldn't just stand by and let himself become a scapegoat for Lanhe. The bureau chief stated that Mayor Qi had brought this hat for him, and he must wear it well. Wang Ping also mentioned this matter, as well as the piece of land at the fertilizer plant that they had fought hard to obtain back in the day.
Current plot analysis suggests that the possible culprits are Feng Gen and Wang Ping. Feng Gen appeared in the first episode wearing mourning attire before the police made any announcements, and Wang Ping received a text message.
Yang Si has already confessed.
Fifteen years ago, at the fertilizer plant, Guan Yu's uncle suddenly died, possibly related to Yang Si (speculation: it might be related to medical expenses for his son, taking the blame for someone else).
In each episode, he is seen on the run. Later, the real Yang Si is beaten to death, and he takes his identity, destroying his own appearance. In the beginning of the sixth episode, he returns to his hometown using Yang Si's identity to find his wife and child, becoming the stepfather to his son and planning to live a good life while working at the timber factory and engaging in robberies.
After being released from prison fifteen years later, his son is falsely accused of murder, and he intends to take the blame for his son. From the audience's perspective, it is evident that his son has already frozen to death at the bottom of the river.
It is estimated that he will seek revenge in the end, or else his scar (eyelid) would be in vain.
Now, this Yang Si is probably the person who worked as an illegal laborer and hid in the mountain cave. He mentioned having a wife, also surnamed Yang. When he went into hiding, he must have mistakenly taken the wrong identification documents.
The identification card he held, belonging to Yang Si, wasn't the real Yang Si beaten up? He should have been beaten to death. So he used Yang Si's identification card to return home and assumed the identity of the deceased Yang Si.
Therefore, Yang Xue Song is likely his biological son, and his wife isn't a widow but his own wife.
This shop is very authentic, just like the way they sold cooked food in the 1990s in the northeast. Don't even mention how beautiful Yang Si's wife is, but it's only at the end that you realize how tough this woman is.
Bringing four or five-year-old Yang Xuefeng by her side (the child got sick!). In Yang Si's teary eyes outside the window, Rongrong's tears of grievance and anticipation welled up when she saw her husband, who had been separated from her for so many, many, many, many days.
Someone asked why this fake Yang Si didn't go get a new ID card. The reason is simple: he thought he had killed someone, and those people are definitely looking for him. If he used his own ID card, there's a good chance someone would catch him.
Also, back when this Yang Si was in prison, there were many problems because every time he hurt someone, he wore a mask, so it's impossible for anyone to know it was him.
Do you think someone threatened him?
It turns out that Guan Yu and his wife had a falling out because of something that happened at the factory. No wonder after so many years, the wife still couldn't forgive her husband.
Guan Yu's wife mentioned that this factory, Yan Shulin's factory, is most likely the predecessor of Yan Hongqiao's company. The police found someone familiar, and based on his account, Yang Si should be familiar with dismantling any machine in no time.
But why did he go do manual labor? That's worth pondering and speculating.
If you say he did it for the sake of his child's medical treatment, it's somewhat understandable, but it always feels like he's hiding from someone.
This county official should be the one who called Wang Ping, and he's probably involved with that Yan Hongqiao in some way. Old Liu hit the nail on the head when he said that the county official's demand for them to quickly resolve this case is all about saving face for himself.
I can't accept Zhong Yi's death. It's too cruel to the audience and too heartless to this character. In fact, they could have had him get injured and hospitalized, and then eventually recover and go back to work.
But instead, they completely destroyed a life. It's evident that he was kind, upright, and had a strong passion for his profession. If someone like him is destined to die young, then who would be willing to strive and fight for their dreams?
It truly reflects the saying that good people die young and troublemakers live on for centuries. It's not that the TV show is bad, but rather, I really liked the presence of this character. I'm giving up on the show and won't watch it anymore.
