Episode 5 recap: The Crown Prince kept the secret for Princess Snow.
Ji Feng questioned Ji Yun about who attacked him. Ji Yun claimed to have recognized the assailant, but did not expect it to be Princess Snow, who ultimately chose to commit suicide. Ji Feng asked her about the secret behind her suicide, but Ji Yun did not answer. After all, she had promised Princess Snow to keep it a secret. Lin Xi Yao also stepped forward and confirmed that Princess Snow died from charcoal burning. However, it was strange how a deceased person could move their own body. Lin Xi Yao called for Xiao Nuo.
Lin Xi Yao deliberately claimed that Xiao Nuo had moved Princess Snow's body after her death, in order to prove that she had committed suicide. However, to everyone's surprise, Xiao Nuo confessed on the spot and accused the Training Institute of being behind it all. Hua Qing Ge was astonished, and Ji Feng was equally surprised to learn that Princess Snow's love interest was her brother.
Xiao Nuo further revealed that they had been influenced by a mysterious woman named Hua Qing Ge every day. Hua Qing Ge then asked how Xiao Nuo managed to leave the ruined temple and if someone had abducted her. Xiao Nuo immediately lowered her head and remained silent, glancing at Ji Chu. Hua Qing Ge also suspected that Ji Chu was involved in this matter. Hua Qing Ge initially intended to expose Xiao Nuo's lies publicly. She even produced some leftover medicine and gave it directly to Ji Wan Er, who acknowledged its cosmetic benefits but also mentioned its poisonous nature. The late-stage poisoning would cause purple patches all over the body.
Having understood the entire plot, Hua Qing Ge declared that Xiao Nuo was responsible for everything. Initially, Xiao Nuo tried to defend herself and put on a pitiful act. However, Hua Qing Ge analyzed the situation and revealed that Xiao Nuo resorted to violence because Princess Snow was jealous of her beauty. Out of anger, Xiao Nuo had scratched her face, leaving a scar. At first, Xiao Nuo adamantly denied the accusations and continued to feign innocence. However, Hua Qing Ge noticed traces of gold powder on Xiao Nuo's feet due to jealousy, making any attempts to conceal the truth futile. Xiao Nuo became emotionally overwhelmed and eventually confessed that Princess Snow did indeed commit suicide, and she had only helped move the body. In reality, Hua Qing Ge's intention was to deliberately provoke Xiao Nuo and make her reveal all the truths.
Ji Feng questioned Xiao Nuo about why she spoke up, but Xiao Nuo claimed to know nothing. At that moment, Ji Chu turned the tables and asked why Princess Snow had drugged Ji Yun. Hua Qing Ge knew that Ji Chu was trying to threaten her into committing suicide and framing Ji Yun, but without evidence in hand, she couldn't simply make wild accusations.
Ji Chu continued to question Hua Qing Ge's identity and claimed that Hua Qing Ge had publicly declared herself as her own master. Ji Chu even produced a supposed love letter, falsely attributing it to Ji Yun. Hua Qing Ge knew that Ji Chu's actions were all aimed at framing Ji Yun.
At that moment, an imperial edict arrived, punishing Ji Yun and temporarily transferring his position to Ji Chu. When Ji Yun came out, he was still very concerned about Hua Qing Ge and wanted her to go back with him. However, Hua Qing Ge was worried that staying by Ji Yun's side would put him in danger, so she politely refused. Ji Chu took this opportunity to publicly demand that Hua Qing Ge admit to being her servant if she wanted to be taken away. Both sides refused to back down, and Ji Chu threatened to imprison Hua Qing Ge. In the end, Hua Qing Ge voluntarily chose to leave with Ji Chu, as it was the only way to protect Ji Yun.

This meant that Princess Snow's age was not twenty-three as believed, and Ji Yun's actions were aimed at concealing this secret. Before her suicide, Princess Snow had left a letter for Ji Yun, which he only recently discovered.
