Episode 7 recap: Ji Chu was troubled by the task of moving the case files.
At first, Hua Qing Ge was very grateful to Ji Wan Er for taking her out of the room today. However, Ji Wan Er had started to suspect her identity. After all, how could someone have such a good relationship with both Third Brother and Eldest Brother? Hua Qing Ge didn't know how to explain, and Ji Wan Er didn't keep asking, only mentioning that she had promised Eldest Brother to visit her frequently in the future.
Ji Wan Er also asked Hua Qing Ge to investigate who the person frequently carrying goldfish was. Hua Qing Ge suddenly remembered that the relationship between Ji Wan Er and Gong Ye Qi was a tragic one, so she didn't know whether to support or oppose it.
Hua Qing Ge was in the room, scattering glutinous rice to ward off evil spirits. After all, she didn't want another sleepless night. At this moment, Ji Chu also came over, saying that with Ji Wan Er's intercession, he would start working at the Eastern Justice Bureau tomorrow. Hua Qing Ge now felt that as long as she could leave this place, it didn't matter where she went.
But accidentally, she spilled glutinous rice on Ji Chu. The next morning, Hua Qing Ge stayed by Ji Chu's side and had already noticed that Ji Chu was investigating his mother's murder case with his left hand. Ji Chu asked Du Wen Shu to bring all the case files. Du Wen Shu said there were too many and he couldn't move them all, so Ji Chu asked Hua Qing Ge to help. He also demanded that she must see all the case files within a specified time. Otherwise, Ji Yun's position as the Crown Prince would be in danger. Ji Chu was using Ji Yun to threaten Hua Qing Ge. Now she had no choice but to comply with his demands.
In fact, the reason why Ji Chu kept Hua Qing Ge by his side was to make her confess her identity as soon as possible. As for whether to take action against Ji Yun, Ji Chu planned to investigate his mother's case from ten years ago first. Hua Qing Ge looked at the pile of case files and didn't know where to start. Lin Xi Yao also learned about Hua Qing Ge being bullied and hurriedly came to check on her. Hua Qing Ge knew that Ji Chu was just bullying her; these books couldn't be moved in time.
Hua Qing Ge decided that it was enough to give Ji Chu the key information.
After her relentless efforts, she finally found crucial evidence about Ji Chu's mother. She then instructed Du Wen Shu to hand the completed painting to Ji Chu. Ji Chu never expected that Hua Qing Ge would actually give him exactly what he wanted.
When Lin Xi Yao saw that Du Wen Shu hadn't returned, she planned to go and check. However, Hua Qing Ge quickly stopped her. After all, in her novel, she and Ji Chu had a romantic storyline, and she didn't want to put Lin Xi Yao in a disadvantageous position. As soon as Lin Xi Yao turned around, she noticed water dripping on the table. At that moment, Ji Chu also arrived and demanded that Hua Qing Ge move all the case files. Ji Chu questioned why Hua Qing Ge knew what he wanted.
Hua Qing Ge wouldn't miss the opportunity to make a deal with him. She quietly told Ji Chu that they should have a good talk when they go back. Hua Qing Ge prepared food and drinks, and Ji Chu questioned how she knew what he wanted in the first place. Hua Qing Ge suggested that Ji Chu have a drink before they talked in detail. However, because she had planned to intoxicate Ji Chu by giving him plain water in a mandarin duck teapot, his subordinate discovered it and switched the drinks. Hua Qing Ge ended up being the one who got drunk after just one cup.
When Hua Qing Ge woke up, it was already the next morning. She told Ji Chu that she knew a lot of things about him and that she could reveal them, but the condition was that he couldn't kill her within a month. Ji Chu readily agreed, which surprised Hua Qing Ge. However, she was more worried that Ji Chu would torture her in other ways.
Hua Qing Ge walked alone on the street and was approached by a fortune-telling Taoist who claimed she had something beyond moonlight. Hua Qing Ge expressed her desire to return to her original world but with a different ending. The truth is, the Taoist couldn't understand what Hua Qing Ge was saying at all, but they had a pleasant conversation. She even gave him some silver coins before leaving.
Upon returning, Ji Chu demanded that Hua Qing Ge transcribe the case files, leaving her covered in ink. Hua Qing Ge also offered to provide storytelling services to Ji Chu. He looked at her sternly, as it had only been seven days and Ji Chu was already unable to tolerate Hua Qing Ge.
