Episode 9 recap: Bai Jinse discovered that Mosi Nian used her.
Bai Jinse asked Mosi Nian why he cared so much about where she had been and if he liked her. Mosi Nian was stunned and didn't answer. Bai Jinse was somewhat disappointed and told Mosi Nian not to expect her to report anything to him in the future. After saying that, she turned around to leave. Mosi Nian's mood was complicated; he didn't know what his feelings for Bai Jinse truly were.
Back at the company, Mosi Nian didn't see Bai Jinse. He went out alone to have a drink and stubbornly claimed that he wasn't worried about Bai Jinse, only about complicated matters. A friend suggested that Mosi Nian should take advantage of Valentine's Day the next day to confess his feelings to Bai Jinse, but Mosi Nian didn't say anything and left. When he returned home, Mosi Nian saw that Bai Jinse was about to go to work, so he took the initiative to make breakfast for her. Bai Jinse sensed that something was on Mosi Nian's mind, but when she looked at him for an answer, he replied that nothing was wrong and she left. Mosi Nian suddenly became restless and desperately tried to show goodwill to Bai Jinse, but she rejected him.
Finally, Mosi Nian told Bai Jinse that she must come home tonight. Bai Jinse speculated that Mosi Nian wanted to confess to her. She received a message from Qin Wuduan, learning that he was leaving, so she went to see him off but didn't accept his love. When Bai Jinse returned home, she saw Mosi Nian lighting candles and realized that he had prepared a table full of dishes, which touched her.
Mosi Nian was hesitant, and seeing Bai Jinse eating seriously, he opened his mouth and finally spoke. Bai Jinse had been waiting for Mosi Nian to speak and was starting to get nervous. As Mosi Nian saw Bai Jinse staring at him, he couldn't find the words. Just then, there was a knock on the door. Mosi Nian was about to go, but Bai Jinse stopped her and went to open the door.
When Qin Wuduan saw Bai Jinse at Mosi Nian's house, he felt that Mosi Nian was still using her. Bai Jinse suddenly understood that Mosi Nian had indeed been using her to achieve his own goals. She couldn't accept it and found it hard to believe that Mosi Nian wanted her to constantly report to him in order to extract information about Qin Wuduan. Mosi Nian tried to explain, but Bai Jinse didn't listen and simply walked away.
