Episode 2 recap: Feng Yi Lun and others found the murderer.
The people from the police station released Feng Yi Lun, saying that there is now evidence to prove that someone else was responsible for killing Mr. Jia. However, if they couldn't solve the case within three days, they would all be in trouble. So they asked Feng Yi Lun to help them investigate the case as a condition for his release.
After returning home, Feng Yi Lun rummaged through his belongings and found a camera. He had seen someone following Ruan Yu outside, claiming to be his fan and taking many pictures. Feng Yi Lun brought the camera back and developed the photos at a photography studio. He discovered something suspicious. It seems that this person was not just a fan but someone who instructed him to take these photos.
Tang Ji Shan came with a whip and started hitting Ruan Yu, accusing him of doing such a thing and questioning his integrity. He said that Ruan Yu had tarnished his own reputation. Tang Ji Shan had explicitly told him not to participate in the movie, but he insisted on doing it anyway. Ruan Yu mentioned that he was aware of Tang Ji Shan's connections outside.
Tang Ji Shan claimed to love Ruan Yu and wanted to have a good life with him. However, Ruan Yu felt that they couldn't have a good life together with Tang Ji Shan behaving this way. Ruan Yu decided not to continue filming here, which frustrated the director, who was also cursing on set.
Feng Yi Lun came over and found Ruan Yu. Ruan Yu was outside the filming location, and his daughter was in the car. Feng Yi Lun and Ruan Yu found a place to talk. Ruan Yu mentioned that he already knew Feng Yi Lun was a petty thief and that after their conflict, Mr. Jia died. All these coincidences couldn't simply be coincidences.
Feng Yi Lun showed the photos to Ruan Yu, who was also shocked by what he saw.
Feng Yi Lun stated that this was definitely a case of someone orchestrating the events. He asked Ruan Yu why she remained silent. Ruan Yu expressed that she didn't want people pointing fingers at them and had also not revealed to the public that she had a daughter. Ruan Yu hoped that Feng Yi Lun wouldn't disclose these matters to anyone, and Feng Yi Lun agreed. The chief from the police station came to find Feng Yi Lun, stating that their time was running out. They analyzed several similar cases where the previous victims were all women, but the last one was Mr. Jia. Feng Yi Lun believed that this would actually expose the problem further.
All these individuals were killed late at night. Feng Yi Lun's friend mentioned getting a taxi to go back home, and upon hearing this, Feng Yi Lun realized the most likely suspect was the driver of the yellow cab. They operated freely at night and were the most unrestricted in the city. With limited time, Feng Yi Lun realized they couldn't individually investigate each case, so he suggested seeking Ruan Yu's help. After all, Ruan Yu was likely a target of the killer as well. Feng Yi Lun went to find Ruan Yu, who felt that this matter had nothing to do with her. Although Mr. Lin had indeed invited her to the party before, she had already declined. Feng Yi Lun mentioned that Tang Ji Shan would also attend this time and would bring his mistress, Miss Liang, along. Didn't Ruan Yu want to take advantage of this opportunity to attend the event in style?
After some thought, Ruan Yu agreed. At the party, Mr. Lin wanted to invite Ruan Yu to dance, but she stated that she would dance the first dance with Tang Ji Shan. Mr. Lin understood. Tang Ji Shan and Ruan Yu danced together, causing Miss Liang to become extremely angry.
Miss Liang sent someone to frame Ruan Yu, but Feng Yi Lun and his team intercepted them. Tang Ji Shan decided to leave in a yellow cab. However, the cab driver suddenly wanted to teach Tang Ji Shan a lesson, saying that a person like him didn't deserve to tarnish everyone's goddess.
