Fan Wu Jiu publicly exposed Zhang Youtao's crimes.Zhang Youtao took advantage of his reputation as someone who is good for the villagers of Taoyuan and deliberately set up an altar to perform a ritual. He then took a talisman in both hands and made gestures for a while, pointing towards an object in front of him.
The object slowly rose, astonishing the villagers and further reinforcing their belief that the village chief possessed magical powers and was a practitioner of immortal cultivation. Zhang Youtao pretended to perform magic in front of the villagers, claiming that an outsider, a female demon, had trespassed into Taohuayuan Village and caused the deaths of Wang Hai and others.
