Episode 5 recap: Xie Ping An failed to escape.
Fan Wu Jiu didn't find any evidence on Zhu Meng, so he thought of another place. On the other side, Xie Ping An woke up and first looked at her clothes. She realized she had been drugged and needed to leave the place quickly. She got lost in the mountains and ended up back where she started. At that moment, a masked woman blamed her for disrupting justice and was about to strangle her. Fortunately, Fan Wu Jiu saved her.
Knowing that she was feeling uncomfortable staying at home all day, Fan Wu Jiu promised to go to the restaurant and have a good meal on her behalf. "Bao Ge" and Fan Wu Jiu went to the grocery store and asked the shopkeeper if he had sold any weapons similar to hairpins. The shopkeeper showed various hairpins to Wu Jiu. They were expensive ones he had bought. Fan Wu Jiu recalled a previous encounter where he accidentally overheard Zhu Meng whispering to someone and quickly covering a box.
At the time, Fan Wu Jiu didn't suspect much and left discreetly. Now, he told the shopkeeper that the hairpin given to him was from another village, which frightened the shopkeeper into offering it as a gift. While Fan Wu Jiu claimed that the Security Guard wouldn't engage in bribery, he actually put the hairpin directly into his pocket. Fan Wu Jiu returned home and asked Xie Ping An if she had gone out today. Seeing that she was upset, he gave her the hairpin to cheer her up. Xie Ping An took the hairpin and felt like she had seen it somewhere before—it seemed familiar.
