Episode 17 recap: Yun Tian He, Liu Meng Li, and Mu Rong Zi Ying reconcile and seek the truth together.

Yun Tian He admits his mistake, acknowledging that he should not have injured his fellow disciple. Since Yun Tian He has already admitted his mistake and Mu Rong Zi Ying has been punished, the matter comes to an end. Elder Qing Yang asks Su Yao how he could bear to allow Mu Rong Zi Ying to be punished. Su Yao explains that Mu Rong Zi Ying did it to protect Yun Tian He and to silence any potential rumors. It is a demonstration of his character and way of handling things.

Yun Tian He comes over to apply medicine to Mu Rong Zi Ying's wounds. Mu Rong Zi Ying asks if he knows where he went wrong. Yun Tian He admits that he should have stepped back earlier, but one momentary setback does not mean a lifetime of regression. Mu Rong Zi Ying expresses that it is the answer he wanted to hear the most.

Elder Qing Yang seeks out Elder Chong Guang, expressing knowledge of his efforts to build his own influence. Qing Yang doesn't mind those efforts, but he insists that Chong Guang must not harm Yun Tian He under any circumstances. Currently, Yun Tian He's father's memorial tablet is missing a corner, and Yun Tian He blames himself and doesn't know what to do.

Liu Meng Li arrives, and Yun Tian He quickly hides the memorial tablet. Liu Meng Li states her intention to help Yun Tian He find the missing corner. Yun Tian He hands the tablet to Liu Meng Li, telling her that if she hates him, she can smash it, but he hopes she will wait until they uncover the truth. He believes that the missing corner should be restored with the truth.

Liu Meng Li assures Yun Tian He that she won't blame him. She comes to the Yunjing Pavilion to read historical records, and Xuan Ye happens to be there, also wanting to read the same book. Liu Meng Li offers the book to Xuan Ye, who tells her to read it first.

Liu Meng Li asks Xuan Ye why he wants to read it. Xuan Ye reveals that his mother has passed away, and he wants to find records about her here. Xuan Ye wonders what they should do if they can't find the truth. Liu Meng Li says that she will leave with Yun Tian He and the others, not allowing past events to harm him.

Xuan Ye remarks that Liu Meng Li is more open-minded than himself. Mu Rong Zi Ying approaches Xuan Ye and reveals that he has already discovered that the troublemaker was a disciple of the Qi Sect. Xuan Ye promises to discipline them strictly and asks Mu Rong Zi Ying not to inform the sect leader.

At that moment, Xuan Ye returns. Su Yao has been practicing the Wangshu Sword here but has been unable to control it.

Xuan Ye approaches and requests medicine for Han Ling Sha. Su Yao is furious, as he realizes that Xuan Ye came to him specifically for the medicine for Han Ling Sha. He feels frustrated that despite his efforts, they fail to recognize his contributions.

Han Ling Sha intends to steal the medicine but discovers that someone has already done so. Xuan Ye finds Han Ling Sha and hands over the medicine. Han Ling Sha realizes that these are just ordinary pills and not what she was looking for. Xuan Ye explains that these pills are beneficial for the body and he will find others for her.

Han Ling Sha considers it too dangerous and advises Xuan Ye against it. She notices that Xuan Ye is injured and gives him a pill to consume. Han Ling Sha asks if Xuan Ye knows about Xuan Xiao, to which Xuan Ye reveals that Xuan Xiao has already succumbed to evil influences. Yun Tian He was attacked but fortunately only suffered superficial injuries.

Han Ling Sha visits Yun Tian He out of concern and advises him to return home without being seen. Xuan Liang approaches Yun Tian He and inquires about the assassination attempt, assuring him that he has been keeping a close watch and no disciple from the Qi Sect has left. Mu Rong Zi Ying asks about Xuan Ye, and Xuan Liang explains that he is by his side due to Xuan Liang's recurring headaches.

Liu Meng Li asks about the cause of Xuan Liang's headaches and offers her assistance in treating them. Huai Shuo suggests that Xuan Liang's exhaustive study of historical records may be the cause. Mu Rong Zi Ying approaches Elder Chong Guang and asks if he had any involvement in the events of the previous day.

Elder Chong Guang denies any intention of killing Yun Tian He, stating that he merely wants to prevent a repetition of the events from nineteen years ago. Chong Guang believes that Mu Rong Zi Ying should not have taken Yun Tian He as his disciple. However, Mu Rong Zi Ying assures him that they will investigate the matter together and requests Chong Guang's protection for Yun Tian He as well.
