Episode 3 recap: Gao Xuan met with everyone in reality.
Gao Xuan woke up in his dormitory. It was already 6 o'clock. He casually picked up a resume from the table, and it turned out to be Chun Yu's. Shortly afterward, he received a group message and learned that two girls involved in the bus accident had not yet woken up. He hurriedly went out. Chun Yu slowly opened her eyes and found herself lying in a hospital bed. She touched her head. At that moment, Qing You woke up screaming. She told Chun Yu about a nightmare she had, involving a haunted building and shadow puppets chasing her. Chun Yu was shocked because her own dream was the same. She felt that the building in her dream was the same as the school building. As she touched her head, she realized she was bleeding. At that moment, Gao Xuan arrived at the hospital and went to Chun Yu's ward, only to find no one there.
Qing You and the others were taken by Doctor Jia for examination because they all had concussions. Chun Yu asked the doctor why both of them had the same dream. Doctor Jia's eyes flickered, and he asked about the details of their dreams, but they didn't answer. In the corridor, Gao Xuan encountered the deceased Hei Er being taken by a nurse to the morgue.
A Yong and Zhang Tian Qiang woke up and realized they had the same dream. They couldn't find Hei Er and suspected that it wasn't just a dream but something real. Zhang Tian Qiang told A Yong not to overthink it, but A Yong was unwilling to let it go and went out to search for Hei Er. Zhang Tian Qiang followed and comforted him, suggesting that maybe Hei Er was playing a prank and the people in the dream were not real. Just as he finished speaking, Gao Xuan appeared before them.
Chun Yu suspected that it wasn't a dream, and Qing You became frightened and nervous, wondering if someone had taken them away in the middle of the night. Qing You's mother arrived, concerned about their well-being, and asked about the others. Chun Yu then remembered that there were many other classmates and started searching various wards. She found out that the other classmates with minor injuries had already been discharged. She accidentally ran into Lao Lin, but Lao Lin didn't mention anything about the 19th floor. In her memory, Lao Lin was injured on the 19th floor, but now he was walking normally.
Zhang Tian Qiang suspected that Gao Xuan was the one behind all this and demanded that he reveal Hei Er's whereabouts. Gao Xuan mentioned the words "morgue" and subsequently, the three of them secretly went to the morgue. Unfortunately, they were caught by a security guard. They had no choice but to return to the ward. Director Chen informed them that Hei Er had already recovered and been discharged. He had settled the expenses himself and left on his own.
After apologizing, Gao Xuan left with Zhang Tian Qiang. A Yong could finally feel at ease, thinking that perhaps last night was indeed just a dream. Gao Xuan told them that he was also in that building, and it wasn't a dream. He said they would only know if Hei Er was truly dead once they found him.
Chun Yu woke up and realized that Qing You was not there. Her phone was turned off and she didn't reply to any messages. She searched everywhere and found Qing You with Doctor Jia. After they left, Doctor Jia sent a message to someone, saying that Qing You had experienced a rejection reaction, but it had been dealt with. Gao Xuan went to Chun Yu's ward but didn't know how to face her, so he left.
That night, A Yong was still worried about Hei Er, but Zhang Tian Qiang advised him not to overthink it. The nurse found them drinking during rounds and scolded them. Zhang Tian Qiang discovered Hei Er's phone under his bed, and A Yong either drunk or unconscious, fell down. Zhang Tian Qiang covered him with a blanket and mistakenly thought he himself had fallen on the bed due to being drunk.
Gao Xuan returned to the computer and continued researching the dream matter. Just as he took a sip of water, he collapsed. Later, the six of them found themselves on the 19th floor again. Zhang Tian Qiang joked about how it was always the same group of people. They analyzed that it wasn't a prank and that Hei Er might be dead.
Then, six pillars appeared in front of them, and they were asked to choose a token. Lao Lin's leg became lame again. Each token had a character on it: 生 (Sheng), 旦 (Dan), 净 (Jing), 末 (Mo), 丑 (Chou). However, Chun Yu's token had no character. The broadcast reminded them that the monster had escaped from the hall. Suddenly, a Nian beast appeared on the big screen and jumped down, walking in front of them. The Nian beast followed the music and danced playfully. But when the music changed, it pounced on Zhang Tian Qiang. He ran desperately, and everyone wondered why the Nian beast was only chasing him. It turned out that the Nian beast would chase whoever matched the melody sung by the broadcast. Zhang Tian Qiang threw away the token, but it reappeared on him. Exhausted, he switched tokens with A Yong. At that moment, another melody played on the broadcast, and Gao Xuan discovered the secret. They prepared to cooperate as a team and ran with the tokens.
Chun Yu was studying at the door when suddenly she switched tokens with Gao Xuan, and the Nian beast immediately pounced on her.
Although it is a drama adapted from an infinite flow novel, it still feels like it's setting the stage for the romance between the male and female leads. There are inexplicably many scenes of them looking into each other's eyes.
On the first night, there was clearly a fire, but they didn't think of using other flammable objects.
Many people have criticized this, so I won't say much about it.
On the second night, you can tell which character is singing just by listening to the snippets. Why couldn't they let the uncle know? Wouldn't that make it more realistic?
Young people may know the six characters, but can they really tell who is singing?
