It's already 2024, and yet the storyline is still so clichéd. All the plot points rely on dialogue to connect them, as if they're afraid you won't understand, with various "naive" characters asking questions on the side, and then the characters in the drama explain everything to you. Oh my, despite having a high tolerance for fantasy stories due to the gaming environment, I couldn't bear the juvenile plot after watching three episodes. It feels like a cheesy online fanfiction that I would have read when I was a child.

Watched two episodes. The first episode set up the background and premise, and the second episode concluded a subplot, which was quite engaging. The special effects are decent, and the feeling of the main characters entering the game for the first time is good. Anyway, filming an infinite flow storyline is challenging, but as long as they maintain the pace, this drama might become a dark horse.

Just call it an original work, why bother labeling it as an adaptation... And it's a live-action large-scale immersive escape room experience, with some added dream sequences and illusions. Sun Qian's acting is actually pretty good, and it's no surprise that Mango TV knows how to cast handsome actors like Wei Zhe Ming.

I love this genre so much! Binge-watched it all night. I enjoyed the twist with the "safety card" in the second game, which caught Strong Brother off guard and revealed his selfishness when he thought he was clever but ended up being unprepared. It was interesting to see how he succumbed to his survival instincts after putting on a facade of being rich and powerful.

To the person who mentioned the well-lit locked room, why don't you first understand what "infinite flow" means??? Firstly, it's neither a detective story nor an escape room scenario. (It's actually my favorite type of ensemble infinite flow drama! Bonus points without conditions!) I just hope that in the later episodes, it won't be only the male and female leads carrying the entire group. The essence of an ensemble is that every member of the team is indispensable, and each person brings their own strengths to contribute to the team's success.

In fact, from the first five minutes, there's a strong stench of a terrible film. My mom and I had a good laugh while watching and sarcastically commenting on it. The production quality and the acting skills of the female lead are surprisingly bad. The logical consistency of all the characters' actions is so bizarre that it's beyond comprehension. The plot development feels like it was written by a sixth-grade student. The production team must have known it was a terrible film, so they claimed it was an adaptation of a novel by Cai Jun, but in reality, they only used two character names. It seems they were hoping to attract fans of the book and gain some popularity, which is quite pathetic. It's heartbreaking to see such a promising subject matter turned into this mess!

The concept of an infinite realm is intriguing, but the plot is dragging and boring. There are too many scenes from real life and too few challenges. Moreover, the levels are too simple... If you're going to use the nineteenth floor of the Divine Might as a gimmick, don't make it so mild...

Why did they keep shining the flashlight in Level 1? It's not like they couldn't see the path. They could have just shined it when the shadow puppet appeared. And when the candle burned out, why didn't they burn something else that could ignite? Instead, they had to painstakingly strike match after match. What would they do once they ran out? And why did that shadow puppet have to show up right when they were about to pass the level? Just as the shadow puppet was about to hit the male lead, the female lead conveniently connected the wires at the perfect timing. No, seriously, why do TV dramas always do this? Is it to create excitement?

Watched 6 episodes, and not a single likable character. It's frustrating how they mix in unnecessary humor and irrelevant subplots when everything is so life-or-death intense. The main characters keep dragging things out without explaining anything, especially in the second level. The rogue team is also annoying, and that freckled guy never shares anything; who knows what he's hiding? The second female lead is even more irritating - weak and incompetent, yet loves to argue. Truly speechless.

The more I watch, the more unbearable it becomes. I came for the theme, but after watching the latest episodes 9 and 10, I'm really infuriated. Why does a drama in an infinite loop still have a plot where the secondary female character inexplicably turns morally corrupt and kidnaps the female lead? It makes no sense at all. And there's no need for the repetitive acting style of Qing You, with her furrowed brow, sneering face, and clenched fists. At first, I actually thought she looked cute and there were some beautiful shots, but the more I watch, the angrier I get. I can't forgive Qing You's actions at all.
Speaking of the female lead, instead of taking any action to handle her own public opinion crisis, she focuses on being "pure and innocent," just to make the male lead come forward and solve the issue, breaking the ice in her heart. I can tolerate some logical inconsistencies in the plot, but I've always had this sense of detachment while watching this show. It's like the screenwriter is telling me that the characters are supposed to be like this, but the actors give me the feeling that they're just playing these roles. The plot and scenes are sometimes stunning, sometimes lackluster. I've lowered my expectations, but the recent concentrated bugs in the plot, the infuriating actions of the female lead, the secondary female character, and some of the slow-motion emotional scenes... Let's see if I can even remember this drama during the next hiatus. I'll give it a lukewarm rating.

I made it to episode ten, but I just couldn't bear it anymore. I'm retreating. It promised suspense, but there's no suspense. It promised deduction, but there's no deduction. It claimed to be thought-provoking, but it's not. At least three-quarters of the show is focused on the petty conflicts among the main characters, with only a few seconds of actual gameplay. The other characters just stand there like idiots while the male and female leads breeze through the challenges. What kind of game is this supposed to be?
Sariel12 months ago rating:6.6
The infinite flow concept is great, but forcefully dumbing down the characters and creating illogical plot points really undermines the logic. I've read Cai Jun's other books before, and I felt that they were quite average. In this drama, the various plot points that are forcefully pushed forward feel like contrivances solely for the sake of advancing the story. It's hard to say whether it's an issue with the original work or the script.
There are many criticisms from viewers. The protagonist rarely speaks up and always sneaks around (sneaking into the morgue without asking the nurse about their family's situation), while the second female lead clings to the female protagonist with extreme and irrational obsession. After this group of people encounters such an irregular and mysterious game, and knowing that death in the game poses real-life risks, it's unbelievable that they don't demand compensation after finally finding the real-world company and even continue to re-sign. It feels like contrived plot points everywhere.

Waste of time. The level design is dumbing down, the plot is dragging, even at double speed it's still unbearable. There are so many plot loopholes, why can't the female lead speak directly? What's the problem with telling the female second lead about any new discoveries? Why must everything be kept hidden, leading the second lead to turn dark... The male gangster is also ridiculous, why is he so foolish, causing harm to others for no reason. The level design is also idiotic, the Nian beast looks too cute, I thought it was Chinese New Year!

The level design is too simple. The second female lead is somewhat inexplicable. They're doing the love triangle again. The female lead is misunderstood and instead of explaining herself, she relies on the male lead to rescue her. I dislike the cliché plot of the main characters knowing each other since childhood. The game's set design and special effects are well done, but that's the only advantage. I'm considering dropping the drama after catching up to the latest episode.

It's a pity that the concept of an infinite flow was promoted, but the supporting characters were weak and dumbed down. It's childish and has many plot holes. There are too many flaws, and it completely lacks the desire to follow the plot deeply. The realistic storyline is diluted, and the frequency at which the female secondary character calls the female lead's name is as irritating as a ghostly cry in one's ears. I'll give three points for the special effects and the male lead.

One star for the special effects. The reactions of all the actors are off. Let's start with when Sun Qian comes down from the elevator. She should at least look up, but she comes down from the suspended air without even glancing up and heads straight to the strange building. The actions of all the actors are illogical, and their dialogue is not natural, especially the line "unbelievable" from Qing You. Xiao Kai Zhong's language and acting are more natural, but even Strong Brother's actions are strange. They could have stuck together and run away, so why force him to become a villain? The chubby guy's reaction is like that of a little child, what's the reason behind that? I know the director wants to portray him as a thug-like villain, but every character's actions should have their own logic. The sudden separation and reunion of the six people in the first copy, what motivated that?
The only thing that was slightly emphasized, the little touch of humanity, is so cheap in the face of these illogical characters. It's hardly worth mentioning. We need a high IQ male lead like Akiyama Shinichi from "Liar Game". He was just right, not greasy at all.

As a fan of the original work, I have to say that this drama has nothing to do with it. However, it still has some creative ideas. If you don't compare it to Duan Nao or Alice, it's actually not bad. Why do we have to compare everything? Duan Nao is a drama from seven years ago, and Alice is from a few years ago. Can't we watch them all? These rare gems from a few years ago won't take you more than a week to watch. It's not like there are so many historical or modern idol dramas that you can't finish them all. You can choose based on your preferences. This genre is already scarce, so there's no need to rank them. If you can watch it, then watch it. If you really like Duan Nao, don't you have a meal replacement after watching it? Personally, I think the quality of this drama is average, but it's watchable. Of course, if it ends poorly, pretend I didn't say anything. For now, let's show some support.

The story is extremely rough, with many poorly connected parts and childish plotlines. Why use those candles and matches when there are so many books, scrolls, and wooden objects? Qing You seems to have some issues. Why does your roommate care so much about what you do? If they don't have time for you, it's like they're treating you as guilty. And that "strong" character is even more problematic. I'd give it two and a half stars, a waste of the looks of the male and female leads.

Let's give it an extra star for the first four episodes, because who dies without having a love interest?! Seriously, can't you just kiss or have a little physical intimacy to solve your "needs" problem? In an infinite storyline novel, I would expect some sweet moments, but the author just won't give them to me. And the director of this TV drama keeps forcing these annoying scenes where two characters just stare at each other, and the more I watch, the more I dislike it.

The theme is pretty good. Let's talk about the characters. Out of the male characters introduced in the first ten episodes, apart from Gao Xuan and the uncle, the rest are incredibly foolish. How did they manage to make it both ugly and appealing? The concept is innovative, the male lead is handsome, and the female lead is quite beautiful, but her acting skills are lacking. I can't tell if she's supposed to be doing good deeds or if she's secretly up to something bad. Surprisingly, the best acting comes from the annoyingly punchable character, Strong Brother. The second female lead keeps screeching and it's really irritating. The outdated trope of portraying the protagonist's strength by contrasting them with weak supporting characters is a bit tired. However, it's impressive that they were able to create an unlimited flow of plotlines. Mango TV insisted on adding some cheesy lines and storylines that lower the overall quality. Overall, it's watchable, but there are quite a few flaws to criticize.

In terms of level design, "19 Floors" is entertaining and lively, at least it's thrilling. In the international context, this so-called infinite flow, battle royale mode has been done countless times by Europe, America, and Japan ("Listen to the Gods," "Battle Royale," "Saw," "Escape Room," and other life-or-death challenge modes are nothing new). However, it's quite impressive for a Chinese drama to present it this way (shadow puppets + mythical creatures + rural zombies + sword emperor slaying dragons...). Looking forward to the subsequent level designs, the inner struggles and growth of the characters, as well as the revelation of the larger context (the game conspiracy), it's worth following. Also, Sun Qian's acting feels really good.

What kind of fantasy mystery drama is this adaptation of Cai Jun's novel? Is this ghostly depiction of the mythical beast in the ancient painting intentional? The initial meeting of the dungeon squad in the game lobby was well-executed. For example, Chun Yu remained calm and assessed the surroundings, while Qing You held onto Chun Yu's hand throughout. The supporting characters have no brains at all. When a patient goes missing in the hospital, they don't bother looking for the nurse and instead run off to the morgue. The whole team is arrogant and self-righteous, with two foolish cannon fodder characters. Apart from the main leads, who have a bit of intelligence, the female lead has a photographic memory and the second female lead and the uncle are not very smart, especially the second female lead. Nobody knows how to communicate properly. Why can't they have a proper conversation and discuss things thoroughly? For example, when the second male lead thought it was just a trivial game, he simply said, "Isn't it simple?" without providing any examples or explaining why it's not simple. And the female lead actually signed an agreement for the second female lead, which is like a child, let's call her A, who clearly can't swim, proving herself by jumping into the river and seeking death, and another child, let's call him B, who is also not a good swimmer, following A and jumping into the river, seeking death twice. What was the reason for all this? The reason was that A felt that her relationship with B was not good. Even elementary school students know that you don't risk your life like that when faced with danger. And these are university students. If this is the result of higher education in China, what kind of talent are they cultivating? The special effects are okay. The actors are pleasing to the eye. Everything else is fragmented.

The random comments that come to my mind without much logic, I'll just focus on the points that I care about. Qing You's storyline feels forced and her logic is inexplicable. The female lead doesn't talk much, and her actions seem driven solely by the plot. Also, I'm someone who pays attention to small details, so there are parts that make me genuinely uncomfortable.
The real-world plot is dragging. The female lead follows someone for a whole day, but it seems pointless and takes up almost an entire episode. And the game console they introduced the night before, the next morning they immediately receive a message on it. Do they really need to verify things that quickly? It makes me feel like they don't care whether they have a logical or illogical plot, as it will be revealed soon anyway.
And then there's Dr. Jia carrying that pen, which seems far-fetched to me. The special effects and scenes in the dungeons are okay, but they're a bit monotonous and simplistic.
Hmm, overall, it's tasteless to watch, but it's a shame to give up on it. Maybe I won't be able to continue watching it for long.

So far, I'd give two stars for the concept and two stars for the female lead's character. The pacing is quite fast, but the supporting characters need more development. I really don't enjoy mindless romance dramas with dumb submissive wives and repulsive male leads that flood the market, but "19 Floors" managed to avoid those two pitfalls. The female lead shines exceptionally well, and the male lead is also doing a great job, currently providing more of a supportive role. I hope they maintain the characterizations and avoid any character collapses in the future.

I really like Chun Yu! Sun Qian's acting is amazing! I can't quite grasp the male lead's character, but Brother Qiang feels so real. He portrays the selfishness and genuine emotions of an ordinary person, someone who doesn't want to admit that his brother is truly gone and resorts to escapism. Qing You is a typical character with low self-esteem, easily swayed due to a lack of self-confidence, which leads to a lot of bad decisions. The whole drama feels very authentic, but the downside is that it lacks the essence of the original "Nineteenth Floor of Hell.

Shouldn't have had any expectations! It's disguised as an unlimited flow drama, but it's fake suspense, fake unlimited flow, fake high IQ. The female lead survives based on luck and props (excluding her memory), while the supporting roles are forcefully made foolish. The conflicts are artificially intensified, making it a fake ensemble drama and a true idol drama. There are endless close-ups of the main characters staring at each other in slow motion! And back in the real world, the mother of the female lead forcibly tries to remove the blood-soaked gauze from the female lead (I also suspect that the doctor who bandaged her head through her hair is a fake doctor, just like me? ???).

The supporting characters are a disaster, and there's a bunch of useless plotlines and romantic relationships. What's the deal with deducting points for those imaginary videos? This is such a poorly executed drama. It's all about the main characters, and everyone else is just there to mess around. Isn't a well-rounded ensemble cast more appealing? Why not create rich character designs for the supporting roles? It's all so shallow.

The depth of the characters gradually unfolds. Brother Qiang is not as selfish and annoying as he initially seemed. Yang Ba Wan's issues with his father make him appear less carefree than his outward demeanor suggests. The way they approached the infinite flow is just a big mess. The first instance felt like a sloppy juice, but I thought it might be a beginner's level, so I endured it. The second instance, when I heard the task was to complete the Sacrifice in the Desolate Village, I thought it might finally get interesting. But the result... What on earth is the plot about? You can even quit before completing the instances... The instances have nothing to do with the environment or the plot inside. Even escape room stories have some plot elements. They spent a whole episode investigating the matter, one person overheard something but didn't share the information, and the two people kept testing and analyzing each other, but in the end, the phone just directly revealed everything... What a crappy plot. Not to mention those ridiculously fake dolls, the close-ups and jump scares are not scary at all, the makeup, editing, and music are all done without care... The only highlight is the male lead's face, the female lead's intelligence, and their cooperation. By the way, their romantic storyline relies on a defense argument... This drama made me feel "tasteless but a pity to waste" because of the infinite flow. I hope the upcoming instances will have some NPC plotlines...
It's already 2024, and yet the storyline is still so clichéd. All the plot points rely on dialogue to connect them, as if they're afraid you won't understand, with various "naive" characters asking questions on the side, and then the characters in the drama explain everything to you.

I can tolerate seeing the main characters suddenly entering a different dimension and still managing to crack jokes; I can endure seeing the main characters maintaining flawless makeup after going through hardships; I can even tolerate the childish plot settings that make it seem like kids playing house.
But I just can't tolerate seeing the male and female leads throwing away their survival tools and striking a pose to look cool in such a dangerous situation! And when they claim at the beginning that it's an adaptation of Cai Jun's novel, but a quick search shows the original book only has a rating of around 6 points, couldn't they at least remake something with a higher rating?
The beginning was not captivating, and I was disappointed as I had high expectations for this domestic web series. The character development is weak, and the main storyline is unclear. The plot feels a bit mindless, to be honest. I'll give it a three-star rating to show some encouragement...
Hopefully, the domestic unlimited streaming genre can step up its game.
The theme is pretty good. Let's talk about the characters. Out of the male characters introduced in the first ten episodes, apart from Gao Xuan and the uncle, the rest are incredibly foolish. They're timid, easily manipulated, and have love-struck brains.
They're constantly thinking about girls. These two characters are just annoying to watch.
Watched four episodes after it was recommended on Bilibili. The plot is actually quite interesting, but can they please stop with the slow-motion shots of the main characters staring at each other!
By the way, the character development of Qing You is really weak, but the Chun Yu-Qing You storyline is so addictive, oh my. I guess I'll have to keep watching to see their relationship progress.
Can't wait for the next episodes!
And the props used in the 19th floor are ridiculously fake and have a strong variety show style. Several actors, including the protagonist, are feigning depth in their performances.
Come on, this is not some Mango TV's version of "Escape Room," right?
The initial meeting of the dungeon squad in the game lobby was well-executed. For example, Chun Yu remained calm and assessed the surroundings, while Qing You held onto Chun Yu's hand throughout.
Zhang Tian Qiang and his gang were busy poking around, and Gao Xuan quietly observed from the shadows. Each character's personality was portrayed brilliantly.
No unnecessary mystery, the dungeons are logically crafted. Overall, it's a sincere work. I hope more talented directors will explore the concept of an unlimited flow and create great productions.
I also hope that the concept of an unlimited flow will gain more popularity among audiences.
Level 19 is really a mixed bag. The game aspect is exciting with a fast-paced plot, and it's quite enjoyable to watch. However, the real-life segments during the day are painfully ugly. It's obvious that the screenwriter's storytelling skills are lacking.
They try to include a yuri subplot but lack the ability to execute it properly.
The protagonist has transformed into an impotent, enraged weakling consumed by possessiveness. The other male characters are brainless and uncooperative. If you try to immerse yourself in the story, it's bound to explode.
I've caught a severe case of stupidity fatigue.
They couldn't even faithfully adapt the novel, wasting a group of young actors with high looks!
Outrageous.
The first shadow puppet scene is really inexplicable. There are tables, chairs, and stools, and there are tattered clothes. Why not make torches? Each person could have one, so why fight over flashlights?
Can't they burn the tables and chairs blocking the electrical room door? Why use matches? Is this the little match girl? And back in the real world, the mother of the female lead forcibly tries to remove the blood-soaked gauze from the female lead (I also suspect that the doctor who bandaged her head through her hair is a fake doctor, just like me?
???).
Who on earth directed this drama? Apart from the good-looking main leads, there's no comfort.
Qing You may seem like he's undergone a dark transformation, but in reality, he's dealing with the trauma brought on by bullying. The character development is on point, and I quite like it.
Fortunately, I've read the novel and watched the movie version. The TV drama has this sci-fi movie CGI feel to it, with even more juvenile character designs. The plot has been heavily modified, the acting is exaggerated, the dialogue is poor, and it's all smoke and mirrors without substance.
Couldn't they have made it into a movie instead? Watering it down for thirty episodes is just hard to accept.
There's no need to deliberately use slow-motion shots in many places to enhance the atmosphere. Also, in the first challenge, when the candle was almost out, instead of lighting matchsticks one by one, they should have considered burning something else.
And most importantly, please stop the cliché of having the mastermind behind the scenes, sipping red wine without showing their face!
I can't understand why Sun Qian keeps accepting these terrible dramas? ???? The quality of these dramas is far behind their foreign counterparts. The slow-motion scenes in the middle are also cringe-worthy.
It feels like the only reason to watch is because of Sun Qian. I can only give one star to Sun Qian. It's hard to believe that this drama was released in 2024.
Perhaps because there are very few dramas in China with this kind of theme, I've watched 10 episodes, and it's really enjoyable, although the plot is a bit slow. But it truly shines and is one of the best of its kind in a long time.
Just wanted to add that Sun Qian and Wei Zhe Ming, the two of you make a perfect pair!
In the third instance, although the level of teamwork improved compared to the previous two instances, the weaknesses of human nature were exposed in the "life-or-death game." For example, the way others treated Qing You, does being weak mean being disposable at any moment...
Watched a little over two episodes and gave up. The pacing is excruciatingly slow, dragging on without purpose. I don't even know how many times I skipped ahead using the progress bar.
The inexplicable slow-motion eye contact between the male and female leads, and the female lead's acting is surprisingly effortless. She gets by with just one expression throughout the entire drama.
The horror relies solely on sudden appearances of ghostly faces, and the suspense falls short. I'll give one star for the special effects, they were decent to watch.
After four episodes, it's becoming more and more dragging. I hope the later episodes will be more concise. I understand that infinite plotlines are meant to portray reality, but there are just too many of them. What's the point of including the cat abuse incident?
Also, even if the main characters are developing feelings for each other, please let it happen after a few more plot twists. Right now, the characterization of the female lead feels quite strange.
I give up, I give up. Those who were attracted by the premise, the first few episodes, especially the first two, were quite enjoyable. The atmosphere was well-crafted, and the introduction of the male and female leads was decent.
However, as for the later plot... how should I put it? I think you can't watch it with your brain engaged. The antagonist's characterization is pretentiously mysterious, constantly showing off their "pen" in a way that diminishes their intelligence.
The romantic scenes between the male and female leads are awkward and stiff, and the supporting characters induce a frustration with their stupidity... Also, I really, really dislike characters who never speak.
