Episode 14 recap: A Jiu and Prince Ye turned against each other because of Blue.
A Jiu heard about the incident where the Upper Clearing Bureau captured the herbal spirit, and based on the time interval between his ascent and descent from the mountain, he concluded that the Upper Clearing Bureau hadn't actually caught anyone. They deliberately passed by the Hundred Herbs Hall, clearly intending to provoke Blue. Bai Kang remembered that Blue hadn't left her room today, even serving her dinner herself. However, A Jiu realized something was amiss and immediately went to Blue's room, only to find that she was already gone.
Dressed in night clothes, Blue sneaked into the Upper Clearing Bureau and discovered that there were no herbal spirits in the prison. As she puzzled over this, she suddenly heard the agonized cry of Wolfbane. Acting out of kinship, she rescued Wolfbane, who had been expelled from the herbal camp by the Elder, and before they could leave, their path was blocked by someone. Wolfbane urged Blue to escape while he stayed behind to fight the guards. Just as Blue managed to escape, she encountered Prince Ye, who had purposely been waiting there. Prince Ye instructed Blue to get on his carriage to evade pursuit, and Blue believed that Prince Ye was a good person.
A Jiu knew that Blue must have arrived at the Upper Clearing Bureau, so he came alone to retrieve her. Han Ye drew his sword, pointing it at A Jiu, refusing to let him enter. The two of them remained locked in a stalemate until a heavy downpour began. Prince Ye brought Blue over, and only then did A Jiu drop his sword and approach Blue.
Prince Ye didn't expect A Jiu to turn against him for the sake of Blue. He understood the warning in A Jiu's eyes and felt a deep pain, considering their years of brotherhood.
