Episode 23 recap: Prince Ye committed suicide by self-immolation.
A Jiu defeated Han Ye, who was blocking the way, and the guards to rescue Blue. However, Prince Ye was determined to obtain the resurrected Lotus Spirit. He drew his sword to stop A Jiu, hoping that she would understand him. After all, both of them had fallen in love with supernatural beings. A Jiu didn't want Blue to be harmed and had no choice but to fight against her former brother, Prince Ye. In the end, she injured Prince Ye and took the opportunity to kill one of the people performing the spell, breaking the soul-swapping curse and helping Blue escape the danger.
At this point, Blue had become the Enchantress Lord with her eyes glowing red, constantly using enchantment spells. A Jiu, in order to awaken Blue, resisted the erosion of the enchantment and stepped forward persistently. Yuan Xiang, feeling useless as she looked at the grieving Prince Ye, couldn't save the Lotus Spirit. She developed hatred towards A Jiu, who had broken the formation, and suddenly picked up a sword and stabbed at A Jiu. However, Blue intervened and fatally wounded Yuan Xiang, who died in Prince Ye's embrace.
Prince Ye, realizing that the Lotus Spirit had died trying to save him and now Yuan Xiang had died because of him, no longer wanted to live a futile life. He chose to commit suicide by self-immolation.
