Episode 4 recap: Blue wants to save Ling Zhi's spirit.

Meng Zi came to seek help from A Jiu because his wife was critically ill. Blue saw A Jiu preparing to leave with a medicine box and asked him to take him along. Unexpectedly, they encountered Ling Zhi's spirit. Meng Zi's injured wife turned out to be Ling Zhi's spirit. A Jiu initially didn't want to save a spirit, but Blue insisted on saving Ling Zhi's spirit and commanded A Jiu, in his capacity as a spiritual master, to turn around and examine Ling Zhi's spirit. They learned that Ling Zhi's spirit was sick because she exhausted herself trying to save Meng Zi. A special prescription was left behind, stating that Meng Zi's blood could save her.

It turned out that Ling Zhi's spirit was originally a kind-hearted person who stayed in the mortal world because of her deep affection for Meng Zi. However, regardless of whether the spirits were good or evil, the Upper Clearance Bureau would capture all spirits. Ling Zhi's spirit was captured while gathering herbs, and Meng Zi, in order to save her, infiltrated the Upper Clearance Bureau and was unexpectedly seriously injured, almost causing Ling Zhi's spirit to die.

At night, Blue learned from A Jiu that human blood was extremely precious and Meng Zi might not save Ling Zhi's spirit. Blue was deeply worried and quietly got up to help Ling Zhi's spirit while A Jiu was asleep. However, A Jiu secretly followed and even transformed into Jiu Ming, attracting the attention of the people from the Upper Clearance Bureau. Later, in order to prevent Blue from getting into danger, A Jiu deliberately led Blue away. Both of them were injured during the confrontation due to their spiritual bond.

Meng Zi looked at the sudden appearance of the people from the Upper Clearance Bureau and couldn't understand why the kind-hearted Ling Zhi's spirit was being treated this way. He stood firmly at the door, preventing anyone from harming Ling Zhi's spirit.
