Episode 5 recap: Mu Di and William became friends through a blind date.

Ding Yi suggested that Bai Lang could give Mu Di a portion of the company's equity. Bai Lang hesitated for a moment but was eventually convinced by Ding Yi. Qu Wen Wen found William and mentioned that she knew about his disagreement with "Lao Liu," but she also found a band for him. Upon hearing this, William bluntly told them to leave, stating that they were insulting music. He advised Qu Wen Wen to be more thoughtful and then walked away. Qu Wen Wen stood there, understanding that William and "Lao Liu" had a falling out because of her, and she happily smiled.

Bai Lang invited Mu Di for a meal and informed him that he had decided to transfer 10% of the company's shares to Mu Di. Initially, Mu Di was reluctant, but Bai Lang's persuasion made him hesitate. However, Bai Lang had two conditions: First, once Mu Di repaid his debts, he would have to transfer the shares back to Bai Lang. Second, Mu Di would have to play the suona (a traditional Chinese wind instrument) for them free of charge. Mu Di said he needed to think about it and eventually agreed, signing the contract.

Mu Di approached a leader from the Xu Huan group and could report to their team in the afternoon. Ding Yi used community promotion as an excuse to get close to Mu Di's family. Coincidentally, their window screens were broken, and Ding Yi saw an opportunity to showcase his skills by offering to fix them. Mu Tong, upon learning about this, became even more satisfied with Ding Yi. He asked Mu Di's father and mother about their impression of Ding Yi. Mu Di's father was pleased, but Mu Di's mother felt that the police were often absent from home and expressed some dissatisfaction. She asked Mu Tong to help Mu Di find someone who had returned from abroad or had a high educational background, to which Mu Tong agreed.

William approached the "Xiao Cheng Storytellers" and asked Bai Lang if they organized music festivals. Bai Lang replied that as long as the money was sufficient, they were open to any opportunities. William inquired if they knew anyone who was knowledgeable about electronic music or rock music. Bai Lang asked him about his occupation, and William explained that he wanted to find like-minded friends in the music field. Bai Lang, upon hearing this, immediately lost interest and wanted to send him away.

The leader of the band introduced the band members to Mu Di, and he realized that these were the people he had encountered during his leisure time in Wei Hai, including pancake vendors, masseuses, and people from various professions. Their smiles seemed forced. When William noticed that they were ignoring him, he asked if he could personally fund their efforts to find an audience for his music. Upon hearing this, Bai Lang's attitude immediately changed. Bai Lang quoted a price of 20,000, and William agreed without hesitation, requesting one concert per week for a month. He proposed paying a deposit for one event to assess the results. Bai Lang hurriedly printed the contract.

The band leader informed everyone that they would rehearse once a month from now on and then dismissed them. The leader also informed Mu Di that she could use the rehearsal space freely, which made Mu Di very happy. The leader then took Mu Di to the rehearsal space, but when they opened the door, they were greeted by a cloud of dust. The so-called rehearsal space turned out to be a small storage room, which greatly disappointed Mu Di.

During the first concert, Bai Lang and his team surprisingly invited a group of elderly people. Once the performance started, the elderly audience members began dancing square dances to the music. William was speechless and found each subsequent wave of people unsatisfactory. He demanded that Bai Lang's company find some university students who understood music. The staff took advantage of the situation and asked for 50,000 yuan. William agreed without hesitation. However, when it was time to make the payment, William saw a message from his mother saying that his one million yuan card had been frozen and that he was required to go on a blind date that afternoon.

Mu Tong brought Mu Di to the blind date, and it turned out that the blind date was with William. William was uncooperative during the date and casually made a few remarks. Mu Di was very dissatisfied and mocked him for embarrassing someone studying music. Afterward, Mu Di left, and William playfully asked if she understood music. Mu Tong answered the question on behalf of Mu Di, saying that his younger sister was a graduate student studying suona at the Central Conservatory of Music. William's smile froze on his face.

In the evening, Ding Yi's relative came to Mu Di's house to try to matchmake Mu Di and Ding Yi. In the room, Mu Tong asked Mu Di about her thoughts, and she expressed her dislike for Ding Yi. Mu Tong suggested that if she didn't want to be with Ding Yi, she should find a boyfriend as soon as possible. Mu Di was then called out by her mother to help see off the guests. Downstairs, William stopped Mu Di, who was about to go upstairs, on his motorcycle. He sincerely introduced himself and apologized to her. Mu Di accepted his apology, and William expressed his hope that they could become friends who understood each other's music. Touched by his sincerity, Mu Di and William exchanged contact information.
