Episode 21 recap: Luo Mai Ming led everyone into the Hot Sea, and Xian Qing sacrificed the Yao Dan to save Luo Zhao Yan.
Luo Mai Ming observed the celestial signs in the Luo family and knew that an esteemed guest would soon arrive. Sure enough, Ying Xuwei, the leader of the Hengdao Sect, would soon come to the Luo family. After exchanging greetings with Luo Mai Ming, Luo Mai Ming asked about Ying Xuwei's identity. Ying Xuwei replied that he was the guardian of the Mist Soul and the leader of the Hengdao Sect. He candidly stated his intentions - he came for the Hot Sea and requested to join forces with Luo Mai Ming to deal with Zhu Yu from the Tianqing Sea. Luo asked what benefit this would bring to him. Ying Xuwei asked if it would count as lifting the blood bond between him and the Hot Sea. This suggestion greatly pleased Luo Mai Ming, and he promptly agreed.
Ying Xuwei then told him that to lift the blood bond, they would need to use the bloodline of a loved one. Luo Mai Ming understood what needed to be done. Luo Zhao Yan brought everyone to the Luo family and asked Luo Mai Ming to take Ming Xiu and others to the Forgotten Dragon Pool to summon Gu Han Jiang.
After settling everyone, Luo Mai Ming had a private conversation with Luo Zhao Yan. He questioned her about the matter between Luo Yan and the Wolf Yao, and he reproached her for forgetting their agreement. Luo Zhao Yan expressed her true feelings, insisting that she had never forgotten her promise with Luo Mai Ming.
Luo Mai Ming wanted to give Luo Zhao Yan a gift. So Luo Zhao Yan, after bathing and changing clothes, returned to her identity as a daughter. As Luo Mai Ming carefully observed her, he found himself increasingly unable to resist his attraction to Luo Zhao Yan. Xian Qing's eyes brightened when he saw Luo Zhao Yan, surprised by how enchanting and beautiful she looked dressed as a woman.
Luo Zhao Yan shyly held onto Xian Qing and asked him to accompany her for a walk. When Ju Shi Fang and others saw this, they were amazed at how beautiful Luo Zhao Yan looked in women's clothing. Yue Jin Zhao took Ju Shi Fang and Qi Ling away, not wanting them to disturb Xian Qing and Luo Zhao Yan.
The next day, Luo Mai Ming led everyone from the Hot Sea into the Dragon Pool. Xian Qing felt a bit uneasy when he noticed that Luo Zhao Yan didn't come along. Once they entered the Dragon Pool, they discovered that Xian Qing was missing. Ming Xiu, eager to retrieve Gu Han Jiang, was met with punishment from the guards of the Dragon Pool, trapping her in her childhood memories.
Meanwhile, Luo Mai Ming imprisoned Luo Zhao Yan in a cell. He intended to follow Ying Xuwei's teachings to break the blood bond between him and the Hot Sea.
Luo Zhao Yan pleaded with Luo Mai Ming not to be obsessed and assured him that she would always uphold their agreement, using her remaining years to extend Luo Mai Ming's life. However, Luo Mai Ming harbored resentment towards her and Xian Qing, vowing to seek revenge on both of them. Just as Luo Zhao Yan begged Luo Mai Ming to spare Xian Qing, Xian Qing had already sensed that Luo Zhao Yan was in danger and managed to overcome numerous obstacles to find them.
However, despite being a thousand-year-old wolf demon, Xian Qing was no match for Luo Mai Ming's cultivation. Seeing Xian Qing tormented and restrained by Luo Mai Ming, Luo Zhao Yan was deeply pained and pleaded with Luo Mai Ming to spare Xian Qing. Yet, Luo Mai Ming wanted to test Xian Qing's sincerity towards Luo Zhao Yan and forced him to hand over the Yao Dan, even though Xian Qing knew that without it, he would not survive. Nevertheless, Xian Qing handed the Yao Dan to Luo Mai Ming without hesitation.
Meanwhile, the guards of the Dragon Pool continued to punish Ming Xiu, trapping her in her childhood memories, unable to break free. Witnessing the traumatic scene of her mother's tragic death in front of her, it was Gu Han Jiang, her master, who rescued her from the danger. Gu Han Jiang comforted the weeping young Ming Xiu, stating that the deceased have passed away, and it is the greatest wish of the departed for the living to continue living well.
After handing over the Yao Dan, Xian Qing lay on the ground barely conscious, and Luo Zhao Yan became extremely agitated. She suddenly broke free from the chains that bound her and threw herself on Xian Qing to protect him. Luo Zhao Yan pleaded with Luo Mai Ming not to make any more mistakes, and Luo Mai Ming interrogated her, asking if she was willing to exchange her own life for Xian Qing's. Luo Zhao Yan told him that breaking the blood bond was a matter between the two of them and begged Luo not to harm the innocent. She declared that even if it were not Xian Qing today, she would protect anyone in the same way.
Seeing Luo Zhao Yan's deep care for Xian Qing, Luo Mai Ming was deeply affected. He said that perhaps the only one Luo Yan wanted to give up in the end was himself. Although Luo Zhao Yan was unwilling to admit it, she had nothing to say and resolutely helped Xian Qing to his feet.
After much soul-searching, Luo Mai Ming returned the Yao Dan to Xian Qing and decisively instructed Luo Zhao Yan to take Xian Qing and leave the place.
