Episode 3 recap: Luo Zhao Yan led everyone to Luo Family Manor, while Luo Mai Ming secretly tested Yue Qi.
Following Luo Zhao Yan, the group arrived at Luo Family Manor. They were greeted by the beautiful scenery and a vast lake. They couldn't help but marvel at the fact that such a Feng Shui treasure existed in the midst of the vast Western Desert. However, Luo Zhao Yan murmured to himself, wondering what price someone had paid for such a beautiful landscape.
Luo Mai Ming, who was in Luo Family Manor, felt a sudden movement from his Hot Sea Bracelet, which he always carried with him. He believed that the people Luo Zhao Yan brought back must have some connection to the Nine Springs Hot Sea. Therefore, he decided to meet them. As soon as Luo Zhao Yan returned home, Luo Ning came to inform them, and Luo Zhao Yan led everyone to meet Luo Mai Ming.
Seeing that Luo Mai Ming's red veil couldn't hide her beauty, everyone was amazed. Luo Mai Ming was particularly interested in Yue Qi and reached out to test her, which made Yue Jin Zhao very unhappy. Luo Mai Ming took the initiative to reveal that he and Luo Zhao Yan were twins. He also knew that Yue Qi and Yue Jin Zhao had been investigating their own origins. He mentioned that three years ago, after they woke up in Wu Yan Village, they lost their memories. They have been traveling and helping others along the way, having little to do with the Qiyuan Sect.
Luo Mai Ming also told everyone that he carefully examined the account book Luo Zhao Yan brought back from Fu Jin Tang and discovered that the last batch of grain was transported to Luo Ri Village. This indicated that Sheng Xuan and the others must have escaped to Luo Ri Village. They decided to hurry there and continue tracking them. In the ancient times, there were Nine Springs, among which the Hot Sea benefited the Luo Family for generations. However, in order to preserve the water source in the desert, the Luo Family made great sacrifices. Initially, the Luo Family sacrificed Luo Mai Ming to the spring, allowing the Hot Sea to be exclusively used by the Luo Family for generations. As a result, Luo Mai Ming could never step out of Luo Family Manor until his physical death. Only then did he realize that the Hot Sea still suppressed his soul. Now, due to the arrival of Yue Qi and the others, the Hot Sea unexpectedly showed signs of disturbance. This gave Luo Mai Ming a glimmer of hope, and he decided to seize this opportunity to try, but instead of succeeding, he suffered a backlash.
Luo Zhao Yan hurried over to help him, and he even gave the painting he had bought outside as a gift to Luo Mai Ming. However, Luo Mai Ming turned around and burned it.
Luo Mai Ming couldn't leave Luo Family Manor, so he had Luo Zhao Yan disguise herself as a man and assume the role of the family head. Luo Zhao Yan believed that despite being a woman, she had to take on the responsibility. However, Luo Mai Ming disagreed. Years ago, Luo Zhao Yan's father, Luo Wang Nian, willingly sacrificed himself to save Luo Zhao Yan. Over the years, Luo Zhao Yan had treated Luo Mai Ming as her twin brother and loved him dearly. What she didn't know was that Luo Mai Ming had been secretly absorbing her life force, to the point where Luo Zhao Yan couldn't escape an early death.
After Yue Jin Zhao arrived at Luo Family Manor, he sensed that something was amiss. Luo Zhao Yan, as the family head, seemed to be constantly constrained by Luo Mai Ming. Moreover, despite Luo Mai Ming being biologically female, his voice was deep and didn't sound like a woman at all.
Even more suspiciously, Luo Mai Ming showed great interest upon seeing Yue Qi. There must be some hidden secret behind it. As a result, Yue Jin Zhao secretly ventured into the forbidden Octagonal Tower of Luo Family Manor. However, Luo Zhao Yan discovered him, and they quickly got into a fight.
Luo Mai Ming secretly met with Yue Qi and informed her that he suspiciously helped her regain her memories. Yue Qi, being innocent and trusting, happily listened to his plans. Luo Mai Ming instructed his subordinate, Cang Feng, to use rosemary to drug and induce amnesia in Yue Qi, hoping to restore her lost memories. Yue Jin Zhao, realizing that Yue Qi was in danger, hurried back and interrupted Luo Mai Ming's probing. However, he also learned that Yue Qi was definitely not the Mist Lord but had a close connection to the Hot Sea.
After Luo Mai Ming left, Yue Jin Zhao asked Yue Qi what Luo Mai Ming had done to her. Yue Qi said that she had just had a dream where she saw her master but couldn't clearly see his face. Luo Zhao Yan informed Luo Mai Ming about Yue Jin Zhao's intrusion into the forbidden area, but Luo Mai Ming remained calm. Luo Zhao Yan then understood that Luo Mai Ming intentionally wanted to divert Yue Jin Zhao's attention.
Yue Jin Zhao was very displeased that Luo Mai Ming had been doing things to Yue Qi behind his back. He angrily confronted Luo Zhao Yan, who defended Luo Mai Ming, saying that he had good intentions and wanted to help Yue Qi and her brother quickly discover their origins. However, Yue Jin Zhao didn't believe Luo Zhao Yan's words.
