Episode 17 recap: Xia Mingzhou went to the retirement center.

Xia Mingzhou was about to go to the retirement center to serve as the chairman of the management committee, but Xiao Changqing and Chen Xincheng did not agree with her coming to manage the retirement center. Niu Dama and several elderly people came to complain, believing that the newly arrived Xia Mingzhou was a troublemaker and was seriously affecting them. Chen Xincheng decided to invest 5 million yuan in the retirement center, while reporting to the group and looking for developers to attract more elderly people to move in.

One night, Xia Mingzhou fainted and was sent to the hospital again. Sun Qiancheng went to see her, and Xia Mingzhou agreed to move into the retirement center, but she had a few conditions: first, she wanted to live alone; second, she wanted to participate in the management of the retirement center and have an independent office. Theoretically, Sun Qiancheng could meet the first requirement, but the second one was uncertain. So Sun Qiancheng first discussed the matter with Xiao Changqing, and then the two of them began to arrange an independent office for Xia Mingzhou.

Upon learning of this, Chen Xincheng was very dissatisfied and asked Xiao Yue to bring the newspaper over, as he wanted to occupy this new office. As for his original office, it would be left for Xia Mingzhou. When the Mingzhou Group learned that Xia Mingzhou was going to the retirement community, they were happy, not caring about what Xia Mingzhou said about opening up a second career, as it meant she would no longer interfere with the group's affairs.

When Xia Mingzhou arrived at the retirement community, she immediately asked Sun Qiancheng to take her to the office for a tour, only to find that her office was actually Chen Xincheng's former one, and Chen Xincheng had suddenly acquired the new office. Although Sun Qiancheng had invested 5 million yuan, he did not have a say in the retirement community and only had one vote.

Chen Xincheng stepped back and said that since she had arrived, she could have one vote just like him, so the two of them together would have two votes. Xia Mingzhou, although still dissatisfied, could only accept the arrangement.

Her office was right next to the restroom, and outside the window was a group of elderly women dancing square dance, which was very noisy and smelly. Xia Mingzhou failed to stop the elderly women from dancing, so she went to Xiao Changqing and got some strong glue, sealing the restroom without anyone's consent, making the residents suffer greatly.

The residents were arguing and shouting in front of the restroom, and Chen Xincheng and Xiao Changqing could not resolve the issue, so they asked Sun Qiancheng to handle it. Sun Qiancheng was indeed able to control Xia Mingzhou, though his approach was a little timid. Xia Mingzhou then felt that the square dance was too noisy, so she bought two large speakers and played music even louder than the square dance, once again making the residents complain.

Sun Qiancheng told a white lie to distract Xia Mingzhou, and then he, along with Chen Xincheng and Xiao Changqing, cut the power to Xia Mingzhou's office. Without electricity, the speakers could not be powered on and stopped. When Xia Mingzhou went to report this, Chen Xincheng and the others just gave her the runaround. As soon as Xia Mingzhou left, the three old guys started laughing, making Xia Mingzhou come back and question whether they were laughing at her. The three of them then racked their brains to come up with various excuses.

Privately, Chen Xincheng and Xiao Changqing demanded that Sun Qiancheng stand on their side, otherwise Xia Mingzhou would always be one step ahead of him. Sun Qiancheng reluctantly agreed. The general manager of the group, Mr. Tian, summoned Xia Mingzhou to the group and told her to go to the HR department to sign the retirement documents, as all the retirement procedures had been completed. Xia Mingzhou didn't say much, but when she returned to the retirement center, she seemed to have lost her soul. She bypassed the three old guys and went to get some water, leaving the three puzzled.

Unknown to them, Xia Mingzhou was unable to accept the fait accompli of her retirement. Sun Qiancheng was worried about her, so he had his daughter Sun Xiaoqing keep an eye on her downstairs while he had a meeting. After a while, Sun Xiaoqing went to tell Sun Qiancheng that Xia Mingzhou was really not doing well - she hadn't gone out all day and hadn't even gone to the cafeteria for lunch.
