Episode 3 recap: Chen Mu Kun saved Xue Hua.
Jin Ye had already obtained the question from Du Juan, so he answered the first two questions correctly. Although Lv Dong Bin was present, he didn't answer any questions at all. Jin Ye felt something was wrong and called Lv Dong Bin over to ask what was going on. Previously, Lv Dong Bin was known for his proficiency in poetry and literature, so it was impossible for him to answer the question incorrectly.
Lv Dong Bin explained that Chen Mu Kun had deceived him and even arranged for a courtesan to test him. It turned out that Chen Mu Kun had brought Lv Dong Bin to the brothel and had Second Sister find someone to test Lv Dong Bin's faithfulness to women.
Lv Dong Bin said that Chen Mu Kun couldn't appear in public due to his identity, so he had to seek Lv Dong Bin's help. Lv Dong Bin agreed to help on the condition that if he was publicly acknowledged as a master of divination, Jin Ye would agree to his request. Xue Hua considered it a significant matter and decided to come up with the remaining two questions herself. Lv Dong Bin answered the third question correctly, but Jin Ye and Lv Dong Bin both answered the fourth question correctly.
Lv Dong Bin indeed guessed the answer based on the question, but Jin Ye had seen it before because his wife had told him while reading a book, so he also answered correctly. Now Jin Ye had scored three points correctly, which meant he had won and could have Xue Hua. Second Sister instructed Xue Hua to serve Jin Ye well and brought him over. Chen Mu Kun instructed the people there to guard and ensure Xue Hua's safety throughout the night, not allowing anyone to harm her. Chen Mu Kun had someone check the well over there, as there were strange sounds coming from it, but it might not necessarily be due to haunting. The police arrived to investigate and said that Du Juan had died.
