Episode 15 recap: Yin Moting had no choice but to marry Lin Qianyu as his concubine.
Yin Moting and the Prime Minister Lin discussed national affairs. They learned that Sheng Kingdom was planning to attack Chen Kingdom, so Yin Moting expressed his opposition. To demonstrate goodwill between the two countries, Chen Kingdom sent princesses to marry and establish closer ties. This gesture showed their sincerity, and if they were to still attack Chen Kingdom, they would be ridiculed by the world. The Prime Minister Lin, a cunning strategist, said that the alliance with Chen Kingdom was only to deceive them. He believed that the Crown Prince must already be aware of the Emperor's determination to unify the world. The Crown Prince, knowing that his father had made up his mind, proposed that if they were to proceed with the attack, he would personally lead the troops.
However, the Prime Minister Lin stated that he had already recommended the eldest prince to lead the army because the Crown Prince was now a son-in-law of Chen Kingdom. If he were to lead the troops, it would appear suspicious. Yin Moting knew that the eldest prince was cruel and ruthless, and if he led the army to Chen Kingdom, there would be immense suffering. So he vehemently opposed it and asked the Prime Minister Lin to support him as usual.
The Prime Minister Lin argued that he only had one daughter, and Yin Moting wouldn't even grant her the position of a concubine. How could he expect support? After weighing the pros and cons, Yin Moting immediately agreed to make Miss Lin Qianyu of the Lin family his concubine. The condition was that the Prime Minister Lin must recommend him to the Emperor to lead the troops to Chen Kingdom. When Yin Moting returned with Lin Qianyu, Chen Xi, feeling furious, rushed out and called Lin Qianyu "sister" in a smug manner. In response, Chen Xi angrily slapped her, and Lin Qianyu retaliated by trying to hit her back. They ended up fighting each other until Yin Moting intervened. Chen Xi felt remorseful for hitting Yin Moting and called him a liar before storming off.
On the wedding night of Yin Moting and Lin Qianyu, Lin Qianyu shyly helped Yin Moting undress. Meanwhile, Chen Xi, heartbroken, tore into pieces the portrait Yin Moting had drawn with his own hands. Ignoring the stormy weather, Yin Moting rushed barefoot from Lin Qianyu's place and, despite Chen Xi's resistance, picked her up, explaining that he had no choice. Chen Xi fiercely bit him and presented him with three conditions. Yin Moting immediately agreed, promising that he would never let Chen Xi down in his lifetime.
