Episode 16 recap: Yin Moxuan incited a relationship between Chenxi and Yin Moting.
After a night of passion with Chenxi, Yin Moting informed her that he had to go to the Li Kingdom for battle and might not return for several months. Chenxi worried about his safety, but Yin Moting explained that he had to do it to weaken Yin Moxuan's influence. He assured Chenxi not to worry and promised to watch fireworks together when he returned. Yin Moting left for several months, and Chenxi missed him dearly in the palace. After agreeing, Chenxi opened the letter. Yin Moting wrote that he had achieved great victories on the front lines and would return to the court soon. Yin Moxuan conspired with Lin Qianyu, who turned out to be Mo Haoli and Nangong Xinlan from the Qingxu Realm. Yin Moxuan told Lin Qianyu that Feng Ruoyao (Chenxi) would soon kill Mo Chenyuan (Yin Moting). At that time, Yin Moxuan would ascend to the throne, and Lin Qianyu would not only be in the middle palace but also become the Yuanjun of the Qingxu Realm. This plan was set to be realized when Yin Moting returned.
