Episode 4 recap: Zhang Yi Meng once saved Jing Cheng's life.
The director had someone pretending to be an eunuch deliver an official edict, formally bestowing the title of Princess Yuanzhi upon Zhang Yi Meng. The plan was to take Princess Yuanzhi back to the palace, but due to an issue with the Forbidden City's location, they suddenly couldn't use it anymore. The director had to send the eunuch again to deliver the message and ask Princess Yuanzhi to temporarily stay in the Wang Mansion and learn etiquette from Jing Cheng. After parting ways with Zhang Yi Meng, Jing Cheng found the director and asked why he suddenly expressed gratitude. He learned about the venue issue and decided to proactively call Director Wu, telling him that no matter what price the other party offers, he is willing to double it.
After hanging up the phone, Jing Cheng couldn't help but recall the scene from ten years ago. He and Zhang Yi Meng were studying at a boarding school abroad. One day, the school building caught fire, and he was in a state of panic when Zhang Yi Meng came over and pulled him to safety. After resolving the venue issue, the production crew encountered a new problem. The actor playing General Ye Zhu suddenly had something come up and couldn't participate in the performance. Jing Cheng volunteered to play the role of General Ye Zhu and explained to the director the rationale behind him taking on the character. It was because Princess Yuanzhi now knew that she was plotting against the kingdom, and General Ye Zhu's character ultimately took the path of rebellion.
At this moment, a maid led Princess Yuanzhi into a room. She glanced at the camera in the corner of the room and reminded Zhang Yi Meng to hide behind the folding screen when changing clothes.
