Episode 2 recap: Li Nai's attempt to open a black fish noodle restaurant failed.
Jiang Jie grew up in an orphanage. There was a little girl in the orphanage, and they had always had a good relationship. That little girl's name was Li Nai. After leaving the orphanage, Jiang Jie had gone back to find her, but Li Nai had already left, and they lost touch.As Li Nai followed her master, they were about to enter the noodle restaurant when Jiang Jie suddenly called out to her, asking if she was Li Nai. From Li Nai's perspective, Jiang Jie's victory over her master was taking advantage of the situation. Therefore, when she heard Jiang Jie's question, she replied irritably, saying it was none of his business what her name was, and then she turned and walked away.
After returning to the noodle restaurant, Li Nai's master asked Cui Can to find another way out. After taking down the signboard of the black fish noodle restaurant, the restaurant was closed. Li Nai knew that her master was in a bad mood, so she walked with him for a while. When they passed a small bridge, they saw someone struggling to pedal a tricycle. Both of them spontaneously stepped forward to help.
Back when Li Nai was selling from a tricycle stall, her master had also helped her push it and advised her to work at the black fish noodle restaurant. In her opinion, Li Nai had great potential and inheriting his skills would not be a problem. Thinking of this, Xue Congming couldn't help but sigh, but Li Nai comforted her master, saying she would definitely retrieve the knife taken by Jiang Jie and help her master get it back.
Jiang Jie was working in a five-star hotel. He was preparing dishes for the guests according to the waiter's order when the waiter suddenly informed him of some news. While Li Nai was reminding Jiang Jie, the onlookers also noticed the two characters and realized that it wasn't Xue Congming's noodle restaurant reopening, but rather his disciple's new restaurant. Although Li Nai needed to offer them a free taste, the crowd still left.
Jiang Jie seemed very interested in the tasting. He not only wanted to try the food but also wanted to go into the kitchen and watch Li Nai cook. After finishing the meal, she tearfully called her master and praised Jiang Jie's black fish noodles, feeling that she had little hope of winning against him and retrieving the knife.
Li Nai received a message saying that Cui Can had been kidnapped and she needed to bring a bowl of black fish noodles as a ransom. After leaving the noodle restaurant, Cui Can had become a guest actor on a stage. Knowing that he wanted to eat black fish noodles, Li Nai made a bowl and went to find him. On her way to deliver the noodles to Cui Can, Li Nai unexpectedly saw a recruitment advertisement for the hotel where Jiang Jie worked. She shared her idea of applying for a job there and stealing Jiang Jie's cooking skills instead of opening another restaurant and risking Jiang Jie taking the knife again. Cui Can strongly agreed with her idea.
Li Nai went for the job interview, and Jiang Jie asked the manager of the human resources department which positions Li Nai had applied for. It turned out that Li Nai had applied for all positions, but during the examination process, she deliberately performed poorly in every aspect. In fact, Li Nai's intention was to secure the position of the sous chef, but this position was not open for hiring.
Li Nai knew that Jiang Jie would speak up for her. When she received the notification to start working at the hotel, she discovered that the position assigned to her was warehouse custodian. During lunchtime, Jiang Jie noticed that Li Nai hadn't come over, so he took the initiative to find her. Li Nai was standing on a ladder retrieving something when she saw Jiang Jie approaching. In surprise, she suddenly fell from the ladder, and Jiang Jie hurriedly ran a few steps to catch her.
