Episode 6 recap: Li Nai was tricked by Jiang Xiu.
Jiang Xiu's cousin's name is Jiang Xu Yang. After being scolded by his grandfather, Jiang Xu Yang hurriedly searched for Jiang Xiu, thinking that Jiang Xiu would be with Jiang Jie. However, when he arrived at Jiang Jie's house, he found it empty.Jiang Jie's cold hadn't gotten better yet, and since his cold was related to himself, Li Nai took the initiative to take care of him. While taking Jiang Jie to get an IV drip, Li Nai also took out an egg and tapped it on Jiang Jie's head twice, saying that Li Ji Dong had told her that when you tap an egg on your head, the illness will quickly improve.
After hearing Li Nai's words, Jiang Jie couldn't help but remember the scene when he and Li Nai were in the welfare institution. When he was sick, Li Nai would tap a raw egg on his head, making his face covered in egg white and yolk. Li Nai's explanation back then was the same.
Jiang Jie found it strange that Li Nai called him by his father's name directly. Li Nai smiled and told him that her father told her to call him that way. Her father told her that they were good friends living under the same roof and should support each other. Jiang Jie was envious of the good relationship between the father and daughter at that time.
After Jiang Jie's IV drip was finished, Li Nai disappeared. Jiang Jie muttered to himself that Li Nai was heartless and was about to go home in the rain when Li Nai suddenly ran over with an umbrella. Jiang Jie then realized that he had misunderstood her.
After Li Nai left, Jiang Jie stared at the umbrella in his hand. Li Nai went to the market and coincidentally met Jiang Xiu, who wanted to buy mangoes. Seeing that the vendor was trying to pass off inferior mangoes as good ones, Li Nai pulled Jiang Xiu aside and asked her to buy from another vendor.
When Jiang Xiu found out that Li Nai worked in the Spring City, she took the initiative to visit her and asked Li Nai to cook for her. However, because Li Nai was not the head chef, Manager Zhu of Spring City refused her request. Jiang Xiu was familiar with Zheng Fang Xing, and with his help, she went to the kitchen and met Li Nai. Li Nai was delighted to learn that Jiang Xiu wanted to taste her cooking, but to her surprise, Jiang Xiu fainted after eating her meal due to an allergy.
Li Nai was severely scolded by Jiang Jie. With her head down, she was walking home when she unexpectedly ran into Jiang Xiu. Jiang Xiu proposed a sense of smell competition with Li Nai. To Li Nai's astonishment, her proud advantage was defeated by Jiang Xiu.
After arriving home, feeling very discouraged, she told Cui Can about the incident. In order to console Li Nai, Cui Can proceeded to tell her about Jiang Xiu and the Jiang family. The patriarch of the Jiang family was named Jiang Zhiqing. Jiang Zhiqing had two sons, one named Jiang Yuanshan and the other named Jiang Yuanfeng. Jiang Yuanfeng was the father of Jiang Xu Yang.
Jiang Yuanshan was the father of both Jiang Jie and Jiang Xiu. 18 years ago, Jiang Yuanshan initiated a somewhat informal knife competition with the head chef of the Ge family. Although the competition was not entirely formal, the stakes were high. The exact nature of the stakes remains unknown, but after losing the competition, Jiang Yuanshan was driven out of the Jiang family.
Hearing this, Li Nai was puzzled and asked Cui Can why Jiang Xiu could be the head chef at Xi Jiang Yue while Jiang Jie had to work outside. Cui Can had some knowledge about this matter and told Li Nai that after Jiang Yuanshan was driven out of the Jiang family, within a little over a year, both he and his wife had passed away. Because Jiang Xiu had a talent for cooking, she was taken in and nurtured by the Jiang family, while Jiang Jie, who had average talent, was sent to a welfare institution and later adopted by someone abroad.
Upon hearing Cui Can say that Jiang Jie had average talent, Li Nai's eyes widened in disbelief. She thought she must have misheard. If even Jiang Jie had average talent, how could anyone else survive? With Cui Can's consolation, Li Nai's mood improved significantly. The next day, she put away her feelings of discouragement and happily went to work at Chun Cheng.
Jiang Jie needed to visit the welfare institution for a charity event and asked Li Nai to buy some ham sausages. However, due to Jiang Xiu's interference, the vendors refused to sell ham sausages to Chun Cheng. Helpless, Li Nai sought out Master Qiao and bought the ham sausages he had amassed. But to her surprise, after the children ate those sausages, they suffered from food poisoning.
