Episode 10 recap: A MaiShang Yi Zhi arrived in Yuzhou.

A MaiShang Yi Zhi arrived in Yuzhou.Shang Yi Zhi stayed at Shi Dachun's residence, and the two of them discussed family matters. Shi Dachun told him that he held military power, and there was no imperial decree preventing him from returning to the capital city. He also mentioned that he couldn't offer prayers and incense for his father.

Shang Yi Zhi assured him that it was not a problem and stated the purpose of their visit, which was to borrow provisions from Shi Dachun. Shi Dachun agreed, but mentioned that he would need to report it to his superiors. Shang Yi Zhi asked him to lend the provisions to him first while he sent Mu Bai to make the report. However, Shi Dachun explained that it was not possible as the matter of provisions was not trivial. A Mai, in order to sever Xu Xiu Er's feelings towards him, told her that she was not the type of person he liked. Xu Xiu Er asked what type of person he liked, and A Mai suggested going to the kiln in the capital city to see the women there. Xu Xiu Er became furious and slapped A Mai in the face, telling her that if she didn't like her, she didn't need to compare her with those kinds of women.

Shang Yi Zhi informed A Mai about Shi Dachun's reluctance to lend them provisions. A Mai wondered why Shi Dachun, who had a good relationship with Shang Wei in the past, was unwilling to lend them provisions. Shi Dachun's wife explained that the current situation indicated that the person in the capital city did not favor Shang Yi Zhi. If he lent provisions to him, it would be offending the emperor and the crown prince. Shi Dachun also understood the current situation and as he lay in bed, he remembered the scene where Shang Wei had saved him, feeling conflicted.

Early in the morning, Tang Shao Yi sat by A Mai's bed and called her to wake up. When A Mai woke up and saw Tang Shao Yi, she was startled and immediately sat up from the bed. Tang Shao Yi told her that General Shi agreed to let him accompany her for a while. A Mai asked him to leave first so she could get dressed and relieve herself. Upon hearing this, Tang Shao Yi quickly brought a chamber pot for A Mai, leaving her stunned. She told Tang Shao Yi that she had a habit since childhood of not being able to urinate in front of others, and he finally left.

Xu Xiu Er saw an elderly woman who was worried because she couldn't read and didn't know where to deliver a written invitation. Xu Xiu Er immediately helped the woman sort out the invitation.

Shi Dachun's wife noticed Xu Xiu Er helping others and instructed the servants to inquire about Xu Xiu Er's background and origins. Shi's wife learned that Xu Xiu Er no longer had parents and coincidentally, she herself had no children. She hoped that Xu Xiu Er could stay and accompany her. Xu Xiu Er expressed her gratitude for Shi's wife's kindness but politely refused. Shi's wife knew that her response would raise Xu Xiu Er's suspicions, so she told Xu Xiu Er that she had a sister who resembled her greatly but tragically passed away from a sudden illness, which deeply saddened her.

Xu Xiu Er agreed with what Shi's wife said, and just then, Shi Dachun returned. As Xu Xiu Er was preparing to leave, she overheard Shi Dachun and his wife discussing the arrival of Mr. Yang, who was by the Crown Prince's side. Shi's wife told Shi Dachun not to lend provisions to Shang Yi Zhi and to entertain him for a few days before sending him away.

Shi Dachun felt conflicted because he had a close relationship with Shang Yi Zhi's father. Refusing to lend provisions to him was already difficult, but now he was being asked to drive him away. He was unsure what to do. Shi Dachun met with Mr. Yang, who asked if he knew the crime of secretly harboring a high-ranking offender of the court. Shi Dachun was puzzled and asked who the offender was. Mr. Yang informed him that it was Shang Yi Zhi.

He told Shi Dachun that Shang Yi Zhi had just been appointed as the leader of Qingzhou but within a month, he executed the former Colonel and released a dangerous prisoner from jail without authorization. Mr. Yang urged Shi Dachun to hand over Shang Yi Zhi and stated that he was ordered to kill him. Shi Dachun agreed to comply with the order but expressed concern about risking his own life in the process.

Shang Yi Zhi learned about Mr. Yang's visit to Shi Dachun and Mu Bai urged him to leave immediately, suspecting that Mr. Yang was there to take his life. Shang Yi Zhi informed Mu Bai that he came for provisions and if they weren't provided, he wouldn't leave. However, before he could finish speaking, Mr. Yang and Shi Dachun arrived together and took Shang Yi Zhi away.

A Mai learned about Shang Yi Zhi's capture and she and Shi Dachun tried to find a way to rescue him.
