Episode 21 recap: A Mai is preparing to marry Chang Yu Qing.

Meanwhile, Shang Yi Zhi, Mu Bai, and a few others secretly infiltrated Shi Da Chun's residence, discussing how to reclaim the city of Yu Province. A Mai agreed to marry Chang Yu Qing, and they held their wedding ceremony at the Marshal's residence. During the ceremony, A Mai drew a dagger and rushed towards Chen Qi, leaving everyone stunned in their tracks.

Chen Qi asked Lieutenant Jiang Cheng Yi about Shi Da Chun's recent whereabouts. Jiang Cheng Yi informed him that Shi Da Chun had left the residence for a while. Chen Qi inquired about where he had gone, and Jiang Cheng Yi replied that he had only gone to nearby places to take a look.

Shi Da Chun was moved to tears on the spot, and Chen Qi felt that he cared for the people like his own children. He told Jiang Cheng Yi that such a person who cared for the people so deeply could not be used. Chen Qi asked Jiang Cheng Yi if the woman in Chang Yu Qing's room was still there.

Jiang Cheng Yi told him that the woman claimed to be his woman, but he wondered why she appeared in the Marshal's residence. He suggested to Chen Qi that they should bring the woman in for questioning, but Chen Qi told him it wasn't necessary as one woman wouldn't pose a threat to them. Meanwhile, Shang Yi Zhi, Mu Bai, Tang Shao Yi, and Wang Qi secretly infiltrated Shi Da Chun's residence, discussing how to reclaim the city of Yu Province.

Shang Yi Zhi told Shi Da Chun that they could discuss the matter later; he needed to go and meet someone at the General's residence. Chang Yu Qing ordered someone to follow A Mai at all times, but A Mai told him not to follow her and that she wanted to take a walk. Chang Yu Qing happened to see her and told A Mai that if she really wanted to be alone for a while, she could, but she couldn't leave the residence.

Just as they were speaking, someone came to report to Chang Yu Qing that Shi Da Chun wanted to see him. When Shi Da Chun arrived, he didn't say anything, so Chang Yu Qing asked if he had any business to discuss, as he would be busy if there was nothing. Shi Da Chun informed him that the people in Yu Province were suffering greatly, but Chang Yu Qing told him that as a military general, he wouldn't care about such matters.

Shi Da Chun remarked that Chang Yu Qing didn't care, Chen Qi didn't care, and he wondered if the Northern Desert Court cared about this matter. Shang Yi Zhi also arrived at the General's residence with Shi Da Chun, and he sneaked into the backyard to find A Mai.

Suddenly, someone grabbed him, and Shang Yi Zhi saw that it was a woman in front of him. He initially thought it was another woman and quickly covered his eyes. A Mai removed his hand and told Shang Yi Zhi that she was A Mai.

A Mai asked Shang Yi Zhi how he was doing, and Shang Yi Zhi looked at her and said he was fine.

A Mai told him she wasn't asking about herself but about the situation outside. While Shang Yi Zhi was talking to her, Chang Yu Qing arrived. A Mai told him that she had a plan. A Mai walked out while holding a sword and pointed at Chang Yu Qing, telling him that she wanted to marry him.

Both Shang Yi Zhi and Chang Yu Qing were stunned upon hearing this news. Chang Yu Qing took A Mai to the street to buy things and get measurements for clothes. A Mai saw a hairpin and fell into a memory, thinking about how she used to play with Chen Qi when she was young.

A Mai told Chang Yu Qing that she wanted that golden hairpin, but Chang Yu Qing exchanged it for a wooden one. Chang Yu Qing told A Mai that the wooden hairpin looked gentle and wouldn't harm anyone. A Mai said he was stingy and didn't even want to give a piece of gold.

Saying that, A Mai was about to take off the wooden hairpin, but Chang Yu Qing put it back on her and told her it was the first gift he gave her, asking her to accept it. Chang Yu Qing saw A Mai dressed as a woman and asked her if she wasn't afraid of making a move at the General's residence during the wedding.

A Mai told him that she was now Chang's wife, so he shouldn't worry. Chang Yu Qing told her to prepare herself to be his bride. Chang Yu Qing held A Mai's hand and told Cui Yan that they were getting married. Cui Yan was surprised and asked if A Mai wasn't the captain of the Seventh Battalion of the Zhenbei Army.

Chang Yu Qing kicked him and told Cui Yan that A Mai was his sister-in-law, asking what he was talking about. Chang Yu Qing told A Mai that his brother always spoke like that and asked her not to mind. A Mai said she actually found Cui Yan quite cute.

She said that men from the Northern Desert were indeed vigorous, and Cui Yan was very happy to hear that. Shi Da Chun thought that during the wedding banquet, they would bring their troops in and capture everyone. However, Shang Yi Zhi thought it was not appropriate. He told them that the woman inside was A Mai. Shi Da Chun asked him whether the lives of the entire city's residents were more important or that of one woman, and Shang Yi Zhi told him he would discuss it with A Mai when he met her tomorrow.

Shang Yi Zhi arranged to meet A Mai in a shop in the city, and A Mai made every effort to meet him for their appointment the next day.
