Episode 4 recap: A Mai was mistakenly caught and taken to the prison cell.
A Mai was mistakenly caught and taken to the prison cell.A Mai arrived at the entrance of the Silver Fort and found tight security. She stole someone else's documents and went inside. Tang Shao Yi walked around the street and received a lot of food. The villagers gave him their delicious food.
Tang Shao Yi's subordinates asked him when they could receive supplies because they had been wearing the same shoes for two years. Tang Shao Yi told them that he would check the situation himself. It turned out that those things were not meant for them but were temporarily stored there. A Mai went to the Silver Fort to inquire about the whereabouts of Ghost Hand Ah Si. Two people nearby overheard what A Mai said and asked her why she was looking for Fourth Master (Si Ye). A Mai realized they might know Ah Si's location. A Mai gave them some silver and hoped they could lead her there. They arrived at Fourth Master's residence, and the steward told them that Fourth Master was not feeling well and couldn't meet them today. A Mai showed the person what Chun Niang had given her and told him to let Fourth Master see it. Ah Si indeed saw the wrench and agreed to meet A Mai. Fourth Master asked A Mai how she got hold of this item, and she told him that Chun Niang had personally given it to her. Ghost Hand Ah Si knew that if Chun Niang could give her this item, they must have a deep relationship. Ah Si informed A Mai about Chen Qi's whereabouts and told her that he had already made a pass for him to leave. A Mai asked if Ah Si could help her make a pass if she wanted to go there too. Ah Si said he could, and A Mai asked how much it would cost. Ah Si said that since she was Chun Niang's friend, they wouldn't discuss the price. Ah Si also wanted to inquire about Chun Niang's situation, and A Mai told him that Cui Ning Pavilion had an incident, and no one could escape from there. Upon hearing this, Ah Si felt very sad. He clenched his fists tightly. A Mai relayed the message that Chun Niang had asked her to deliver to Ah Si, which made him even more upset. The two men who were helping A Mai find Ah Si earlier intercepted her. They asked A Mai for money. A Mai negotiated with them, agreeing to give them half now and the rest when they were out.
The two men agreed and took the money A Mai gave them to go and have a big feast. Coincidentally, A Mai saw the young master Chang, who she had stolen the documents from. Chang recognized A Mai, approached her, and was about to strangle her. Just then, Tang Shao Yi happened to be patrolling in the area and intervened, forcing Chang to release A Mai.
In the chaos, A Mai seized the jade finger ring from Chang. When Tang Shao Yi saw the jade finger ring, he mistakenly believed that A Mai was a spy from the Northern Desert. Without listening to A Mai's explanation, he captured her and threw her into the prison cell. As soon as A Mai entered the cell, she noticed a person sitting quietly in the corner, engrossed in reading a book.
Curious about what book he was reading, A Mai initiated a conversation with the person. She saw the weapon design in his hand, which had been modified extensively. A Mai told him that if he sold this design to the military, it would greatly enhance their capabilities. Unexpectedly, as soon as she finished speaking, the person angrily collected the design and told A Mai that his creations were not meant for the military.
The elder brother in the cell approached. Seeing that A Mai was a newcomer, he asked her to lift her head for him to see. The elder brother found it strange that A Mai, who appeared male, had such delicate features. He then asked A Mai to stand up and turn around a few times before slapping her buttocks. A Mai couldn't control herself and punched the elder brother in the eye.
Tang Shao Yi took the jade finger ring to show it to someone knowledgeable. The person immediately thought of Chang Yu Qing from the Northern Desert, knowing that he was highly skilled in martial arts and extremely arrogant. They speculated that Chang Yu Qing might come to the prison, and indeed, he arrived and began searching for Li Er Niu, killing many innocent people along the way.
Upon hearing Chang Yu Qing mention the design for whip arrows, A Mai realized that he was the person she had seen earlier with the weapon design. A Mai quickly came up with a plan to buy time. When Tang Shao Yi's men arrived, they couldn't capture Chang Yu Qing, despite their numbers.
Before fleeing, Chang Yu Qing assured A Mai that he would come back to rescue her. This further strengthened Tang Shao Yi's belief that A Mai was a spy.
