Episode 7 recap: A Mai and Shang Yi Zhi arrived in Qingzhou.
A Mai arrived at a cave and saw Shang Yi Zhi not far away. As soon as Shang Yi Zhi saw A Mai, he hurriedly ran out. He felt that he and A Mai were destined to meet. He asked A Mai why her clothes were all dirty. A Mai told him that she escaped from Silver Fortress with Xu Xiu Er.Prince Qi Jing and the Second Prince Qi Min were analyzing the purpose of the attack on Silver Fortress by the Northern Desert. The Emperor thought that it must be something the Northern Desert wanted, so he ordered his subordinates to talk to the Northern Desert's envoy and find out what they wanted. The prince was about to say something, but the ministers next to him quickly signaled him not to continue.
The Emperor asked the eunuch Shang Yi Zhi about his whereabouts. The eunuch told him that Shi Yuan should be arriving soon. The Emperor told him to inform him if there was any news, even if Sheng Hua found out, it didn't matter. A Mai saw Shi Yuan not far away and urged the horse to run. As expected, Shi Yuan chased after seeing the horse.
A Mai and Xu Xiu Er took the opportunity to escape while the Prince was worried about the Northern Desert's affairs. His teacher gave him some advice and made a gesture for him to pay more attention. A Mai and Xu Xiu Er followed the bloodstains and arrived at a cave, where they saw a white-clad man not far away and asked if he was Shang Yi Zhi.
Shang Yi Zhi heard A Mai's voice and quickly ran out to see someone he knew. He felt a connection with A Mai. A Mai told him that she escaped from Silver Fortress with Xu Xiu Er and explained the whole situation to Shang Yi Zhi, realizing that he had not entered the city either.
A Mai told Shang Yi Zhi that she had a plan. She asked Shang Yi Zhi's personal guard, Mu Bai, to lure out the members of the Long Yin Guard. She would take Shang Yi Zhi to another place. Shang Yi Zhi's guards were worried about him, but he assured them not to worry and believed in A Mai.
Unexpectedly, after A Mai took Shang Yi Zhi to a remote place, she held a knife to his neck. She told him that she never considered him a friend. She wasn't going to Qingzhou to deliver the message, but to find someone in the Northern Desert. A Mai told Shang Yi Zhi that she was willing to trade his life for the pass to enter the Northern Desert. Shang Yi Zhi was initially unwilling to believe, but the facts were already in front of him.
A Mai held the knife against Shang Yi Zhi, and Shi Yuan told her that it didn't matter who the Long Yin Guard wanted to take away.
As Shi Yuan was about to rush forward to snatch someone, A Mai whispered in Shang Yi Zhi's ear, telling him to quickly run with her. When they reached the valley, A Mai told Shang Yi Zhi that it was all part of her plan and not to be scared.
However, Shang Yi Zhi felt a bit excited just now and thought it was quite thrilling. A Mai told him to shut up and stop saying useless things. Shang Yi Zhi noticed some dirt on A Mai's face and wanted to help her clean it off. A Mai told him to watch his behavior and reminded him that she knew his family had a reputation for being promiscuous, but she wasn't that kind of person.
A Mai asked Shang Yi Zhi to take off his clothes. She wanted to disguise herself as Shang Yi Zhi and lure the members of the Long Yin Guard away with Mu Bai. Just as A Mai was about to get up, Xu Xiu Er hugged her from behind. Xu Xiu Er was afraid that A Mai would leave her behind, but A Mai assured her that she would be back soon and asked her to wait there.
Prime Minister Lin reported to the Emperor that Shang Yi Zhi had headed towards Qingzhou. The Emperor asked Prime Minister Lin why he didn't order to have Shang Yi Zhi killed. He asked about the arrangements in Qingzhou, and Prime Minister Lin assured him that everything was in order.
Shang Yi Zhi brought A Mai to the gate of Qingzhou. The gatekeeper looked at him and thought he looked like a beggar. He told Shang Yi Zhi that beggars were not allowed in the city. Shang Yi Zhi asked A Mai if he looked like one. A Mai glanced at his face, which resembled a little kitten, and thought he did look like a beggar.
Shang Yi Zhi argued with the gatekeeper for a while, and the gatekeeper was about to take Shang Yi Zhi and the others away. Just then, Mu Bai arrived with his men. They informed the gatekeeper that the beggar was actually Duke Dingnan, Shang Yi Zhi. Shang Yi Zhi remembered his mother's instructions and went to visit Mr. Xu Jing.
Xu Jing informed him about the current situation in Qingzhou and arranged for Shang Yi Zhi to start his official duties early the next morning. Shang Yi Zhi and A Mai arrived at the residence of the city's commander, and they noticed that the door was open even before entering.
What attracts me the most is that the female lead is not foolish at all! She doesn't need to rely on men at all. In fact, men have to rely on her, whether it's being trapped in a station or a prison, or later escaping from the city.
The female lead's wit and courage far surpass everyone else.
