Episode 22 recap: Lu Yuan Zheng's longing and determination.

Lao Liu happily informed Lu Yuan Zheng that the Metaverse has been fully developed. They have also created an exact replica of the year 1995 from Lu Yuan Zheng's memories. Lu Yuan Zheng can go back to that time whenever he wishes, and it will be just like he imagined it to be. Furthermore, the relationship between Lu Yuan Zheng and his wife will remain unbroken, allowing him to experience the life he desired in the real world.

However, Lu Yuan Zheng suddenly felt conflicted. He seemed to think that the flawed 1995 he encountered was also quite good. He worried that if Lao Liu were to shut down that Metaverse, the lives of the people inside might change. Lao Liu believed that once that world dissipated, they would never be able to find it again. When Lu Yuan Zheng heard Lao Liu mention that the version of Lu Yuan Zheng from the erroneous 1995 might revert back and continue abusing his wife, the real Lu Yuan Zheng felt a pang of heartache.

Lu Yuan Zheng stood before his wife's grave and lamented how things had finally gotten better in that world, only to cause his wife suffering once he left. He was uncertain whether he should continue returning to 1995 or go back to that flawed 1995. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew, as if giving Lu Yuan Zheng a hint to keep moving forward.

Lu Yuan Zheng sought out Liu Guofu and mentioned that they used to play together when they were young. Liu Guofu, like Lu Yuan Zheng, reflected on how he ended up in this small house because he lacked skills and gradually fell into depravity. As Lu Yuan Zheng looked at the house, memories of his time with Liu Guofu rushed back to him.

Liu Guofu harbored anger towards Zhao Debiao for his incomplete equipment, which resulted in the death of his parents and the crippling of his own legs. Lu Yuan Zheng knew that Liu Guofu still clung to his pride, just like the people in that flawed 1995. Yu Jiao looked at Lu Yuan Zheng, who had returned to his previous self, and felt afraid.
