Episode 20 recap: The Li family members are caught in a storm of suspicion.

Di Ren arrives to help solve the case, but his name troubles Liu Lang. Di Ren tries to explain, suspecting that Liu Lang is intentionally causing trouble. Xie Quan Jia finds Di Ren's way of speaking a bit confusing, and Fan Zhong Ju points out that Di Ren suspects him of being the culprit due to the numerous suspicious points about the body. Additionally, Di Ren suspects Liu Lang because he possesses many hidden weapons.

Suddenly, the two of them are attacked by someone descending from the sky at the Li residence. One of them is named Di Ren, and the next day, Di Ren wakes up and challenges Liu Lang to a contest of martial arts stances. However, Di Ren collapses from exhaustion, while the other person lies motionless in the courtyard, having already died. When Di Ren regains consciousness, he suspects that none of the people at the Li residence can be absolved of suspicion. Xie Quan Jia wonders why this person died at the Li residence and why the two of them appeared there. It turns out that the previous night, Di Ren noticed someone acting suspiciously at the Li residence. When he approached to investigate, he was ambushed and woke up at the Li residence.

Di Ren begins to interrogate everyone, pointing out inconsistencies in their background information. He follows the procedures of the investigative process and poses a question for each person to answer. Liu Lang's answer closely resembles the psychological profile of the culprit, leading Di Ren to suspect him. However, Gu Chuan quickly provides an alibi, proving that he was playing chess with Liu Lang the previous night and was not present at the scene of the crime.

Later, everyone goes to the courtyard to examine the body. It is revealed that the person died from multiple wounds, inflicted by more than one person. Di Ren decides to search each person's room individually. Ren Shu quietly asks Liu Lang if he was responsible, but Liu Lang believes it would be unnecessary to leave the body in the Li residence, no matter how foolish he may be. In Gu Chuan's room, they find a bloody stick, which Gu Chuan explains was used during their chess game the previous night. He provides a detailed explanation of each move, claiming that the blood on the stick is from a self-inflicted wound on his forehead caused by Liu Lang.

Di Ren doesn't believe a word of it and mocks the overgrown grass in the room. He finds it hard to believe that someone with such a head injury could remember the details of a chess game, concluding that Gu Chuan must be lying. Gu Chuan admits to telling the truth and reveals that he lied. They later go to Ren Shu's room and find numerous hidden weapons. Di Ren compares them and discovers that the knife marks match the wounds on the body. Yu Huan helps clarify the situation, explaining that last night, while discussing the "Shanhe Classic" with Fan Zhong Ju, he went to the kitchen to get pastries because he was hungry and found Ren Shu there. This proves Ren Shu's absence from the scene of the crime.

Afterwards, the two of them finish eating pastries and return to their respective rooms to sleep.

In order to verify if Yu Huan was telling the truth, Di Ren looked at the manuscript of the "Shanhe Classic" and found no mention of Yu Huan's ideas. As a result, Yu Huan blamed Fan Zhong Ju for not caring about her, leading to an argument between them. Furthermore, Gu Chuan discovered that Yu Huan and Ren Shu were stealing pastries, which led to an argument between him and Ren Shu. In a fit of anger, Ren Shu revealed that Liu Lang did not play chess with Gu Chuan, which caught Di Ren's attention. Ren Shu claimed that he saw Liu Lang flying onto the roof with a hemp rope at midnight, and later, a hemp rope was found in Liu Lang's room. Liu Lang was unable to refute the accusation and admitted that he had no explanation. He revealed that the person on the roof was not his true self and disclosed that he suffered from sleepwalking, waking up in different places every day.

Xie Quan Jia recalled that when he got up last night, he saw someone in Liu Lang's room. Could that person have taken advantage of Liu Lang's absence to frame him? Di Ren felt that there were other clues and discovered bloodstains on Liu Lang's pillow. This particular clue only pointed to someone from a wealthy family. Everyone turned to Gu Chuan, who nervously explained that he mistakenly entered Liu Lang's room. He claimed to suffer from night blindness and accidentally tripped, resulting in the blood on the stick being his own.

Ren Shu likened Gu Chuan to a blind man selling prawns without a scale, confusing the situation. Di Ren believed that the suspects had been eliminated, except for Xie Quan Jia, and even suspected that Xie Quan Jia was hiding something in his room. A box inside the room caught Di Ren's attention. When Xie Quan Jia opened it, they found silver notes and a piece of black cloth.

Di Ren claimed that the black cloth was the head covering used by the culprit during the crime and insisted on taking Xie Quan Jia to the yamen. Xie Quan Jia explained that he had been a snorer since childhood due to genetics. Later, afraid of being discovered, he started wearing a head covering while sleeping, but unexpectedly, it was still discovered by everyone. Di Ren felt that the people in the Li residence were all peculiar, with one sleepwalker, one night blind individual, and another snorer. It had become a recovery center.

Guo Dong Li arrived at the Li residence and revealed his identity as a tenant. He mentioned seeing the deceased in the courtyard at Wanli Tower last night when he was drinking alone. Di Ren felt that there were missing details. While flipping through the information book, the deceased woke up, causing everyone to panic and flee. The deceased claimed to be Liu Lang's junior from outside the residence. He had discovered a masked person being chased last night and sought refuge at the Li residence. In the process, he inadvertently struck himself on the acupoint used to hold one's breath instead of the masked person.

The misunderstanding was resolved, and Liu Lang invited everyone to eat at Wanli Tower. Meanwhile, Di Ren hurriedly went to investigate the identity of the masked person. At Wanli Tower, the junior encountered the masked person, who tearfully confessed to committing a murder and wanting to surrender. As for Di Ren, his identity was also fake. He had stolen the yamen's token and a ceremonial sword to gain merit and enter the yamen on duty.
