Episode 5 recap: Tang, the leader of the Tang Sect, stayed at the Li residence.
Liu Lang was unaware that Zhuge was actually Shang Guan Gu Chuan. He warned Gu Chuan that even if she no longer had any intentions towards Xie Quan Jia, she must understand his meaning. Just as Gu Chuan was about to ask, a bamboo leaf flew in front of her. Liu Lang quickly knelt down to greet his master, who asked why he would send him a letter after experiencing a bit of setback.
Xie Quan Jia warmly welcomed the master, and the others explained to Liu Lang that he was a kind-hearted person who had to violate the rules and sell the Drive Straight Needle to pay off his debts. Later, due to Liu Lang's surname issue, they discovered that the master was an "inverted disciple." After learning that the leader of the Tang Sect's real name was Tang Ruyue, Gu Chuan was frightened, and Fan Zhong Ju finally understood why Liu Lang and Gu Chuan were so nervous. From their expressions, he guessed that the leader was not an ordinary person.
At this moment, the master boasted that Tang Ruyue had been completely obedient to him. Just as he heard Liu Lang mention "Master's wife," he didn't dare to turn his head and quickly knelt down, offering his sword with both hands. Tang Ruyue descended from the sky, holding Liu Lang and crying, saying that as long as her disciple was unharmed, everything would be fine. She also mentioned that she would take care of him in Changle. The leader's appearance made everyone mistakenly believe that she was a kind and amiable person, and just as the master was about to say something, he was frightened into silence by a loud roar.
In reality, Tang Ruyue and Li Gong had been good friends for many years, and they were acquainted with Gu Chuan's parents as well. Tang Ruyue also urged the two of them to get married as soon as possible. At this time, a patient came to demand an explanation, claiming that the Li residence had sold fake Drive Straight Needles, causing them to lose all their hair. Guo Dong Li was held tightly by this person and couldn't move. Just as the master was about to come forward to help, he was shouted at loudly by the patient. Feeling protective of her husband, Tang Ruyue struck the patient with a palm, sending them flying outside the door.
Guo Dong Li thanked her savior and learned from Tang Ruyue that the Drive Straight Needle had side effects, causing anyone who came into contact with it to lose their hair. Everyone was frightened and kept their distance from Guo Dong Li, afraid of being infected. In order to investigate why Liu Lang hid the accident and intentionally spread this rumor, Tang Ruyue requested that everyone beg her to stay and provide the antidote.
Liu Lang knew his time was limited and didn't want to sadden his master. He decided to leave the Li residence but was discovered by his master as he was about to jump over the wall, so he had no choice but to return to his room. Tang Ruyue sympathized with Xie Quan Jia's situation and openly stated that she would be Xie Quan Jia's godmother in the future. Tang Ruyue went to Gu Chuan's room and, as the godmother, took the responsibility of arranging their marriage and future livelihood. She suggested that Gu Chuan learn martial arts and start a business to support the Li family, while Xie Quan Jia would study medicine.
The next day, Shi Niang (Tang Ruyue) sent gifts to Guo Dong Li and the others, which moved them and made them miss their families even more. Meanwhile, Gu Chuan was practicing horse stance in the courtyard to strengthen his body. In the evening, Gu Chuan wrote a letter to his family, informing them that he had married Xie Quan Jia and achieved success in his career. The next day, everyone discovered that the flowers in the pots had died, clothes were ruined in the wash, and books had been thrown away. Shi Niang admitted that she was responsible for these actions.
In order to resolve the conflict, Xie Quan Jia explained that Shi Niang was doing these things for their own good, such as doing their laundry, pruning the plants, and getting rid of useless books. Everyone was angry but dared not speak up, so they retreated to their own rooms. To avoid practicing the horse stance, Gu Chuan secretly asked Liu Lang to paralyze his legs with acupressure. Shi Niang, in order to make Gu Chuan stand up again, vowed to stay with him until he could stand, and increased the intensity of her acupuncture treatments for his recovery.
Gu Chuan privately told everyone about his legs and asked for their help in maintaining the lie. In order to prevent Shi Niang from personally administering the acupuncture, Liu Lang took the initiative to do it for her. On the other hand, Fan Zhong Ju clung to Shi Niang's leg, delaying her from treating Gu Chuan with acupuncture. He was forced to take a pill and then returned to his room, slapping his head. Shi Niang felt that Liu Lang's acupuncture technique was incorrect and decided to redo it.
Later, Gu Chuan deliberately ran in front of Shi Niang to prove that his legs had healed. Meanwhile, Fan Zhong Ju suffered from constipation and Shi Niang searched for cloves to treat him, but they found out that cloves were bird droppings. Everyone suffered together, and afterwards, they begged their master to take Shi Niang and leave for the sake of everyone's well-being. However, Liu Lang stated that he would only leave if Shi Niang left. When he returned to his room, he found that Shi Niang had cleaned it for him.
He tried to persuade Shi Niang to leave, but she sternly demanded that she learn martial arts. Unable to bear Shi Niang's teachings, Liu Lang revealed the truth that he didn't have long to live and that he left the mountain to escape from her. He also confessed that he had sold the hidden weapon, silver needles, and exchanged them for steamed buns. Instead of getting angry, Shi Niang reminded him to take a look at another box. When Liu Lang opened it, he found numerous silver bills. Shi Niang scolded him harshly, but in reality, she had already taken care of everything for him.
The master revealed the truth that the quack doctor had intentionally deceived Liu Lang and that he didn't actually have a terminal illness.
