Episode 39 recap: Li Yingchun recognized Yan Kuren.
There were two police officers sitting in Li Li Li's office, and later Li Yingchun arrived as well. Li Yingchun didn't know what was going on, but Li Li Li said that the officers had some questions and wanted to talk to her mother. Then the officers showed a photo of Yan Kuren, and Li Yingchun became very excited. She kept asking where this person was. The police officers said he was Phillips Yan, and he was involved in a series of recent cases. Seeing her mother's sad expression, Li Li Li knew there was something upsetting about it!

When they arrived at Jin Ying Jie's apartment building, Hao Xin opened the car door for him. Jin Ying Jie had something on his mind, but he suddenly realized something was wrong. There were two thugs behind them! Jin Ying Jie shielded Hao Xin and gave him a chance to call for help, but he was stabbed by the thugs.
When they arrived at the hospital, Jin Ying Jie's condition was critical. Hao Mei, Hao Yun Lai, and Fu Gui Hua arrived soon after. The doctor came out and explained that the stab wound was in the abdomen, and it could potentially endanger the uterus. Hao Yun Lai and Fu Gui Hua were stunned upon hearing this news, while Hao Mei couldn't stop crying. When Hao Xin returned and heard the news, he was shocked. Hao Mei confirmed that Jin Ying Jie was a girl and revealed everything, including Jin Ying Jie's decision to resign. Hao Xin was at a loss for words and repeatedly apologized to Jin Ying Jie. Soon, Jin Ying Jie's parents also arrived at the hospital, and Jin Ying Jie was taken out by the doctor.
Meanwhile, Yan Kuren was apprehended by the police while trying to escape. Jin Ying Jie regained consciousness, but Hao Xin still didn't know how to face him. She sat there, drinking water, unable to believe that the girl with long hair in front of her was the same secretary who had been by her side. Jin Ying Jie decided not to tease Hao Xin anymore and pointed to his mouth, asking her to feed him.
Li Li Li went to the detention center to see Yan Kuren. Her eyes were filled with anger, and she declared that she and her mother would never forgive him. Yan Kuren claimed that he didn't do it on purpose. Hao Yun Lai's family went to the hospital to see Jin Ying Jie and brought the news of Yan Kuren's confession, as well as the revelation that he was Li Li Li's father.
