Episode 12 recap: Liu Guo Ning gave up gaming and focused on studying.
Taking the opportunity when Liu Xiang Shang took Liu Guo Ning to shoot a jump rope video, Liu Guo Ning sat in front of his father's computer, opened it using the password. When Liu Xiang Shang returned, he quickly discovered that his son had played on his computer. This led to another round of physical punishment, and Liu Xiang Shang vowed to change the password.
In reality, Ma Ying Jie didn't take Tang Dou for an outing. Instead, they cheered and supported Tang Xiao Wei during his live broadcast, becoming the top supporter. However, their trickery was quickly discovered by Tang Xiao Wei. Tang Dou explained that he only wanted to help his mother improve her performance because he didn't want her to work so hard. Tang Xiao Wei told his son that he didn't need to do such things, and Tang Dou apologized to Tang Xiao Wei.
Tang Xiao Wei also scolded Ma Ying Jie because if their backstage actions were discovered, they could be considered a violation, and they might not be able to continue their live broadcasts. Ma Ying Jie had no choice but to apologize to Tang Xiao Wei.
Liu Guo Bao told his older brother that their father asked her to supervise him and offered her some benefits. In order to prevent his sister from betraying him, Liu Guo Ning had to provide even more benefits. Considering the upcoming gaming competition, Liu Guo Ning reluctantly agreed. Liu Xiang Shang went to Tang Dou's house to play games and became very angry when he saw his son playing games. When they returned home, Liu Xiang Shang physically punished him and threatened to delete his gaming account. However, Liu Xiang Shang forgot the new password he had set for his computer, which caused some trouble.
Dai Jing later found out that the computer was completely unusable, so Liu Xiang Shang had to find a way to change his son's bad habit of gaming. Before leaving, Liu Xiang Shang asked the mother to keep an eye on Liu Guo Ning and not let him touch any electronic devices. Surprisingly, Liu Guo Ning secretly hid a smartwatch in his boxing gloves and called Shi Wu in advance, pretending that his father had confiscated all his electronic devices. Shi Wu then lent his tablet to Liu Guo Ning.
When Dai Jing returned, she discovered that Liu Guo Ning was playing games again. Yang Ming Biao learned that it was Shi Wu's idea to let Liu Guo Ning play games, so he scolded his son once more. The father-son relationship was already strained, and Shi Wu, in anger, decided to return to school.
Chu Yi was very reluctant to part with his older brother and advised him to play fewer games as it could negatively impact his vision. Although Shi Wu was initially upset, he valued his relationship with Chu Yi, so he let go of his anger.
Liu Xiang Shang thought that if he forced his son to stop playing games, it would be better for him to download a game, make in-app purchases, and directly play to defeat his son. He believed that his son would naturally lose interest in gaming. During this period, Liu Guo Ning experienced multiple failures in gaming. Liu Xiang Shang even encouraged him to drop out of school and spend all his time playing games. He even asked him to use his New Year's money for gaming. However, Liu Guo Ning realized that gaming was not meaningful to him, so he decided to focus on studying during this period, and Liu Xiang Shang's goal was somewhat achieved.
The manager informed Dai Jing that due to the online shopping boom, the store also needed to downsize its employees. Dai Jing had just started working at the store a month ago, so she was now facing this issue, which was very troublesome for her. Ding Ding, on the other hand, advised Dai Jing that she should not hesitate in the matter of downsizing because eventually, when she returned, she would become an indispensable assistant to the manager. Dai Jing found this advice very reasonable.
When she arrived at the store, the employees flattered her and tried to please her, but when she asked about the day's sales, she found out that they had only sold one item in the morning. Everyone was already aware of the impending layoffs, so they were intentionally trying to please Dai Jing. Dai Jing noticed that there were only two positions to be cut out of four employees, which put her in a difficult situation.
Coincidentally, Liu Xiang Shang was about to go on a business trip, so he left the task of handling the children's homework to their mother. Most of the assignments required online operations, and the mother had to record them with pen and paper. Dai Jing first asked Ding Ding to gather information about the employees. Now, it was not easy to decide whom to lay off.
In school, the children were required to prepare a one-minute speech. Tang Dou and Liu Guo Bao did well, and now it was Chu Yi's turn. Chu Yi handed this challenge to her mother, Jing Ting Ting, who sought the help of a professional team to prepare a speech for her daughter.
