Episode 3 recap: Aunt's Review.
Wang Yutian and Yang Defu suggested to the principal to start a review system where students could rate their teachers. The principal found this to be against the norm since traditionally it was the teachers who graded the students, but now the students were being asked to grade the teachers. Yang Defu immediately flattered the principal, praising his courage to innovate and his youthful spirit. This made the principal very happy, and he agreed right away.
Since the introduction of the review system, the students finally breathed a sigh of relief. Teachers who were not serious in class, spoke dialects, caused delays, or liked to criticize students were only given one star. Soon, all these teachers left the school. Wang Yutian initially thought this was the beginning of a good culture, but he didn't expect many teachers to take advantage of the situation. They didn't teach seriously at all and only wanted students to give them five stars. Some teachers even gave eggs or yogurt to bribe the students.
Wang Yutian and Yang Defu realized something was wrong and were concerned about the negative atmosphere. Just then, a five-star-rated class appeared. Yang Defu and Wang Yutian went to investigate and found that the teacher leading the class didn't teach any knowledge at all; they only led the students in chanting slogans. Despite this, the teacher received praise and students were not allowed to say anything negative. The teacher demanded that Wang Yutian and Yang Defu leave a five-star review before they could leave.
Yang Defu refused to comply and angered the whole class, which surprised her. Afterwards, she and Wang Yutian went to the principal to request the cancellation of the rating system. However, the principal, who had just ignited his passion for education, did not want to cancel it. It was only when he saw his own rating of only 2.8 that he became angry and agreed to cancel the rating system.
