Episode 4 recap: Forest shadows.
Yang Defu took a walk in the small forest last night and suddenly saw a dark moving object. Just as she was trying to figure out what it was, a voice calling "Lao Yang" startled her, causing her to panic and run away. The next day, Yang Defu told her classmates about this incident. Some people mentioned that before the school was built, it used to be a chaotic burial ground, so there was a heavy presence of yin and evil spirits. However, Wang Yutian didn't believe in such things, so that night he went to the small forest with Yang Defu to find out the truth.
Yang Defu, still shaken, tightly held onto the hem of Wang Yutian's clothes. At that moment, Wang Yutian's flashlight fell to the ground, startling Yang Defu. Wang Yutian quickly turned around to comfort her, but Yang Defu saw a dark figure approaching them, which frightened her to the core. The dark figure turned out to be leaning on Wang Yutian's shoulder. It was then that Wang Yutian realized, and along with the voice from the figure, they both knew it was Lao Gao. He had come to the small forest in the middle of the night for bear climbing.
The next day, when their classmates learned about Lao Gao's bear climbing activity, they couldn't help but be curious about whether it worked. At that moment, someone remembered that the person who suggested Lao Gao to go bear climbing was her late husband. However, Lao Gao's husband had already passed away due to cancer. This sent shivers down everyone's spines, and even Lao Gao's smile seemed eerie. That night, Wang Yutian and Yang Defu went to Lao Gao's dormitory to see her. They were startled by the interior decorations and learned that Lao Gao had invested all her feelings for her husband in an AI robot. They showed special concern for Lao Gao and eventually helped her accept her husband's departure and return to reality.
