Episode 13 recap: Li Yi Jin brought Liao Zhe home to meet Meng Ming Wei.
Meng Yi An looked at the constellation necklace Qiu Xia bought for her on their wedding anniversary, and memories kept flooding back, making it hard for her to let go. Liao Zhe was waiting downstairs in the residential area early in the morning to pick up Li Yi Jin, but unexpectedly, Tao Shu Na came instead. Tao Shu Na knew that Liao Zhe wanted to pursue Li Yi Jin, so she questioned Liao Zhe about his intentions to confirm if he truly had feelings for Li Yi Jin.
Cui Bao Hui went to find Qian Li early in the morning to inquire about the stage design proposal for Xiaohongmei. Coincidentally, Feng Yan Yan arrived at their company and personally discussed the design proposal with Cui Bao Hui. Feng Yan Yan explained that she had received two stage design proposals, and one was significantly better. She insisted that Li Yi Jin should continue to be in charge; otherwise, she would switch to a different collaborating unit.

Liao Zhe took Li Yi Jin to play billiards and talked about the boyfriend situation. He wanted to help Li Yi Jin pretend to be in a relationship to deceive Meng Ming Wei, so she wouldn't pressure Li Yi Jin too much. Liao Zhe accompanied Li Yi Jin back to the residential area and learned that a woman named Meng had called him over thirty times. Li Yi Jin realized that Meng Ming Wei had found Liao Zhe.
Li Yi Jin explained Meng Ming Wei's way of handling things to help Liao Zhe understand better. Liao Zhe felt curious about Meng Ming Wei and believed that he should face the issue directly and meet Meng Ming Wei in person.
Liao Zhe met Meng Ming Wei and sincerely answered all the questions she asked. He shared the situation at home and praised Meng Ming Wei for keeping the house clean and cozy, which made Meng Ming Wei very happy.
Meng Wan Qing was at home looking at her credit card statement and discovered numerous miscellaneous expenses. She called to check the transaction records and found out that Tao Da Lei had been using her card for personal enjoyment. She had no choice but to cancel the credit card directly. Meng Wan Qing went downstairs for a walk and unexpectedly ran into Zheng Bin. Zheng Bin found an excuse to meet Meng Wan Qing but hesitated to contact her directly, so he waited on the street, hoping to run into her.
Zheng Bin asked Meng Wan Qing about Tao Da Lei's situation and whether she had been troubled by him. He also wanted to see if Meng Wan Qing would bring her family to attend the class reunion. After talking with Zheng Bin, he gave Meng Wan Qing several boxes of fresh fruit as a gift. Meng Wan Qing understood Zheng Bin's intention but pretended not to know and gracefully accepted his gift.
After Liao Zhe left, Meng Ming Wei still had doubts about him. Li Yi Jin questioned Meng Ming Wei if she treated unfamiliar people the same way. It was then that Meng Ming Wei revealed her intention to add Liao Zhe on WeChat.
Li Yi Jin reminded Meng Ming Wei that Liao Zhe had already added her on WeChat and was waiting for her verification. This made Meng Ming Wei happy. Tao Shu Na learned that her classmates, who were not as good as her, had received interview notifications from Professor Huang, but she hadn't received any. So she went directly to question Professor Huang about why she wasn't chosen.
Professor Huang refused to give a reason but made it clear that Tao Shu Na did not meet their hiring criteria, which angered Tao Shu Na. She felt it was unfair that she was not accepted simply because she was a woman, so she was determined to fight for this internship opportunity.
Tao Da Lei received a call from a lawyer and learned that Meng Wan Qing was serious about divorcing him. He had to call Tao Shu Na and figure out a way to persuade Meng Wan Qing to change her mind. Tao Da Lei went to buy cosmetics as a gift for Meng Wan Qing but realized that his card couldn't be used when he tried to pay. He had to go and confront Meng Wan Qing about it.
Meng Wan Qing and Tao Da Lei had a heated argument at the entrance of Qiao Hai Yun's place, which alarmed Qiao Hai Yun. Meng Wan Qing pretended to go downstairs to pick up takeout and then talked to Tao Da Lei downstairs. Meng Wan Qing refused to give Tao Da Lei the card, and while Tao Da Lei was downstairs, he accidentally overheard Meng Wan Qing's plan to attend the class reunion.
Indeed, it's not quite suitable to air during the festive season of Chinese New Year. However, I feel that the content is very relatable. Just because it tells the trivial matters in a conflicted family, it doesn't mean that people wouldn't want to watch it.
