Episode 14 recap: Meng Ming Wei created a scene in the theater and hurt Li Yi Jin's feelings.
Cui Bao Hui had a new target and was constantly attentive to the new intern, Sun Xiao Ru. Qian Li couldn't help but speak ill of Sun Xiao Ru and mock her in front of Li Yi Jin. Li Yi Jin directly confronted Qian Li, stating that they were only in a superior-subordinate relationship and shut down Qian Li completely.
After work, Li Yi Jin went out to play with Liao Zhe. Liao Zhe took Li Yi Jin and tried various activities. Liao Zhe took Li Yi Jin to play racing, which improved Li Yi Jin's mood, and she started smiling more in front of Liao Zhe.
As Li Yi Jin got to know Liao Zhe better, she realized that he was different from what she initially thought, and her perception of him changed. Liao Zhe noticed that Li Yi Jin had feelings for him and wanted to take their friendship to another level, but Li Yi Jin made it clear that they could only remain friends.
Liao Zhe made sure to take Li Yi Jin home at nine o'clock sharp, not wanting to provoke Meng Ming Wei. Since Li Yi Jin had a great time, he wanted to take her on a spontaneous trip. Liao Zhe and his friends were planning to go parasailing in Queenstown, and he wanted Li Yi Jin to join them. However, Li Yi Jin declined, citing the lack of a visa and the inability to go on an impromptu trip.
Meng Ming Wei cooked a delicious fish dish for Li Yi Jin, but to her disappointment, Li Yi Jin didn't answer her calls or come home to eat. Tao Shu Na, while enjoying Meng Ming Wei's food, unintentionally revealed that Liao Zhe's father wanted him to go abroad to take over the company. This worried Meng Ming Wei even more.
Meng Ming Wei was against the idea of Li Yi Jin marrying someone from another country. Upon learning about Liao Zhe's plan to go abroad, she feared that Li Yi Jin would also go abroad once she became close to Liao Zhe. Therefore, she opposed their relationship. When Li Yi Jin returned home, she confessed about her date with Liao Zhe.
Meng Ming Wei expressed her disapproval of Li Yi Jin being with Liao Zhe, and Li Yi Jin understood that Meng Ming Wei must have found out something. Meng Ming Wei confessed about the plan to go abroad, and Li Yi Jin assured her that she would never go abroad with Liao Zhe, which put Meng Ming Wei's mind at ease.
The next morning, Li Yi Jin packed a large suitcase, preparing for a business trip to the countryside. Meanwhile, Meng Ming Wei accidentally saw the Queenstown flight ticket information sent by Liao Zhe on Li Yi Jin's phone. After Li Yi Jin left for work, Meng Ming Wei looked up Queenstown and mistakenly believed that Li Yi Jin was planning to go abroad.
Meng Ming Wei deliberately called Liao Zhe, pretending to invite him over for dinner and inquiring about his plans. Liao Zhe truthfully told Meng Ming Wei about the trip to Queenstown, and he didn't know when he would return. This heightened Meng Ming Wei's worries.
Meng Ming Wei believed that Li Yi Jin was hiding the fact that she planned to go abroad with Liao Zhe. So she went to the company to find Li Yi Jin. Li Yi Jin clearly stated that she had no intention of going abroad, but Meng Ming Wei didn't believe her and insisted on taking her back home.
Li Yi Jin was busy arranging the performance, and Feng Yan Yan was observing at the theater. She couldn't afford to make any mistakes, so she angrily confronted Meng Ming Wei.
Li Yi Jin expressed that even if she were to go abroad, Meng Ming Wei had no say in it. She also stated that she had had enough of Meng Ming Wei, which infuriated her. Before Li Yi Jin could speak more harshly, Feng Yan Yan happened to walk in and stopped her from saying anything further, as there were many parents and children present in the theater. Li Yi Jin was called inside by Feng Yan Yan, and it was then that Sun Xiao Ru informed Meng Ming Wei that Li Yi Jin was indeed going on a business trip, and she had helped her book the tickets. Sun Xiao Ru urged Meng Ming Wei to believe Li Yi Jin.
Due to Meng Ming Wei's outburst, Cui Bao Hui became angry and scolded Li Yi Jin, replacing her for the trip to the countryside. Zhang Xiao Yan went to find Tao Shu Na and coincidentally received a call from Professor Huang, who was in trouble. They went together to assist Professor Huang. Professor Huang had ordered a batch of equipment and teaching materials, and they had agreed on a price to have them delivered upstairs. However, the movers demanded a higher price due to Professor Huang's specific requirements.
Professor Huang refused to pay the increased price, and the movers began carelessly throwing the equipment around. At that moment, Tao Shu Na arrived and immediately started recording a video. She managed to hold the movers accountable and forced them to apologize to Professor Huang while also helping move the equipment upstairs. Witnessing Tao Shu Na's performance, Professor Huang's opinion of her changed. Additionally, he was satisfied with Tao Shu Na's previous paper, which Zhang Xiao Yan had submitted, so he gave her an opportunity for an interview.
Zhang Xiao Yan informed Tao Shu Na about Professor Huang's situation, revealing that Professor Huang's daughter was the first female Ph.D. student in their department. Unfortunately, she passed away in a car accident during an exploration trip to the northwest. Zhang Xiao Yan hoped this would help Tao Shu Na understand Professor Huang better. Meng Yi An went to pick up Qiu Qiu after school and overheard other parents gossiping about Xiao Yao, claiming that she was a homewrecker.
Upon hearing that Xiao Yao was being labeled as someone who seduced wealthy men, Meng Yi An couldn't help but confront those gossiping women and honestly revealed Xiao Yao's relationship with Qiu Xia. Xiao Yao, grateful for Meng Yi An speaking up for her, specifically sought her out to have a conversation, assuring her that she would treat Qiu Qiu well and asking Meng Yi An to trust them.
Meng Yi An dealt with Xiao Yao and unintentionally noticed the necklace she was wearing around her neck, which was the same one Qiu Xia had given her as a birthday gift. This made Meng Yi An feel a little upset. Li Yi Jin went alone to the restaurant she used to frequent and had some spicy hot pot to let out her frustrations.
Zhou Dao had been missing for a while, and coincidentally, he went to the same restaurant to eat. He learned from the staff that Li Yi Jin had just left, so he hurriedly followed her outside, but he was a step too late and only saw Li Yi Jin getting into Liao Zhe's car. After Liao Zhe brought Li Yi Jin back, he took the initiative to apologize to Meng Ming Wei and explained that the misunderstanding about going abroad was his fault, asking Meng Ming Wei not to blame Li Yi Jin.
Liao Zhe assured Meng Ming Wei that he had his own career in China and would never go abroad in the future. Li Yi Jin was hurt by Meng Ming Wei's actions, and she demanded that Meng Ming Wei return to their hometown. If Meng Ming Wei refused to go back, Li Yi Jin threatened to move out and find another place to live. A friend came to Li Cheng Zhi asking to borrow money and complimented him, which pleased him, and he agreed to lend the money.
However, Li Cheng Zhi didn't have the money to lend, so he called Meng Ming Wei asking for their housing provident fund, but Meng Ming Wei unexpectedly refused.
