Episode 16 recap: Meng Ming Wei is monitoring Qiao Hai Yun's situation.
Meng Wan Qing suggested installing surveillance at Qiao Hai Yun's house, but Meng Yi An disagreed and wanted to hire an aunt to accompany Qiao Hai Yun. Meng Wan Qing thought the aunt was unreliable and believed it was not easy to find a good one. Finally, they decided to install surveillance through a vote.
On Tao Shu Na's first day of internship at Professor Huang's place, she happily took a deep breath at the door. Zhang Xiao Yan appeared and celebrated with Tao Shu Na. After Zhang Xiao Yan showed up, Tao Shu Na remembered a sentence he said during their previous discussion about choosing between humanities and sciences, which made her firmly choose the science stream. Today, she finally fulfilled her wish to work on aerospace research projects with Zhang Xiao Yan.
In her excitement, Tao Shu Na called Meng Wan Qing to share the good news. She coincidentally overheard Tao Da Lei preparing a loving lunchbox for Meng Wan Qing, which made her even happier. Song Jun Wen arranged a meeting between Meng Yi An and Guo Xiao Wen to discuss public education matters. While Meng Yi An was using the restroom during their meal, she unintentionally stumbled upon Xiao Yao in another private room, hugging another man and drinking, which made her feel uncomfortable.
After the social gathering, Meng Yi An told Song Jun Wen about seeing Xiao Yao's behavior. She asked if she should inform Qiu Xia about it, but Song Jun Wen advised against it. Qiao Hai Yun discovered the surveillance at home, and despite Meng Wan Qing's attempts to deceive her, she couldn't be fooled, which made Qiao Hai Yun particularly angry.
Qiao Hai Yun forced Meng Wan Qing to install the surveillance, but Meng Wan Qing explained that it was Meng Ming Wei's concern for Qiao Hai Yun's safety. She tried to persuade Qiao Hai Yun not to worry about the surveillance, but Qiao Hai Yun refused.
Qiao Hai Yun called Meng Ming Wei and insisted that the surveillance be removed. Li Yi Jin and Meng Ming Wei discussed Qiao Hai Yun's personality at home. Li Yi Jin recalled when Qiao Hai Yun was determined to go to work despite being sick. Meng Ming Wei stopped her, so she had to ask the young Li Yi Jin for help in pretending to be sick and going to work. Meng Ming Wei mentioned that Qiao Hai Yun was pushing herself too hard back then, collapsing right after finishing the business. Therefore, Meng Ming Wei couldn't just go along with Qiao Hai Yun's wishes now. As long as it is beneficial for Qiao Hai Yun's health and safety, she doesn't care whether Qiao Hai Yun would like it or not.
While Tao Shu Na was having a lively conversation with Meng Ming Wei and her daughter, she interrupted them when she returned to have her meal. Tao Shu Na also opposed installing surveillance, but Meng Ming Wei only cared about Qiao Hai Yun's health. She suddenly thought about the possibility of invisible surveillance, so she asked Tao Shu Na to help her reinstall it.
After Tao Shu Na finished her busy work and went to the cafeteria to eat, she saw someone who looked like Zhang Xiao Yan and immediately went over to tap the person's shoulder, only to realize that she had mistaken someone else. Embarrassed by her mistake, Tao Shu Na ran to join the food queue, and coincidentally, Zhang Xiao Yan had just finished his meal and saw Tao Shu Na. Zhang Xiao Yan pretended that he hadn't eaten and went to greet Tao Shu Na, also taking the opportunity to ask her to treat him to a meal so that he could have a chance to eat with her.

When Sun Xiao Ru entered Cui Bao Hui's office, Cui Bao Hui tried to take advantage of her. Sun Xiao Ru didn't know how to refuse, but then Li Yi Jin came in and prevented Cui Bao Hui from doing anything.
After Sun Xiao Ru left Cui Bao Hui's office, Li Yi Jin reminded her that she only needed to report to her about the project and didn't have to go to Cui Bao Hui. Li Yi Jin treated Liao Zhe to a McDonald's Happy Meal, and Liao Zhe found it strange. He then told Li Yi Jin about his experience of eating Happy Meals and mentioned that Li Yi Jin was the third woman to treat him to one.
After Liao Zhe finished his story and ordered more food, Li Yi Jin was about to get up to place her order when she saw Zhou Dao's figure. However, Zhou Dao didn't want to be seen by her, so he hid and avoided her. Zhou Dao watched Li Yi Jin from the shadows and reminisced about the time they used to eat Happy Meals together. He missed those moments, but now that Li Yi Jin had a new boyfriend, he didn't want to disturb her and could only watch from a distance.
Zhou Dao heard from a friend while drinking that Li Yi Jin had come looking for him when he went back to his hometown. Zhou Dao had returned to his hometown because his grandmother was critically ill. He had planned to come back and explain things to Li Yi Jin once he settled everything, but he didn't expect Li Yi Jin to have a new boyfriend, so he had been avoiding her.
A friend suggested to Zhou Dao that he could try to win Li Yi Jin back. Zhou Dao realized that he needed to explain things to Li Yi Jin and decided to have a talk with her. After Meng Ming Wei finished installing the surveillance, she kept a close eye on the footage, observing Qiao Hai Yun's every move. One day, she noticed that Qiao Hai Yun had been in the bathroom for an hour without coming out, which made her anxious.
Meng Ming Wei tried calling both Li Cheng Zhi and Meng Wan Qing, but couldn't reach them, which made her extremely worried. Meng Wan Qing was busy at home and didn't answer the call, while Li Cheng Zhi was occupied playing chess and ignored her calls.
Meng Wan Qing called back after receiving Meng Ming Wei's call and learned about Qiao Hai Yun being in the bathroom. She immediately rushed to Qiao Hai Yun's house to check on her. Meng Wan Qing hurriedly went to Qiao Hai Yun's house and found out that Qiao Hai Yun was only studying the toilet in the bathroom, which relieved her.
Tao Da Lei helped Qiao Hai Yun repair the toilet, and Qiao Hai Yun questioned Meng Wan Qing about whether she had installed any surveillance again. Taking advantage of the situation, Meng Wan Qing persuaded Qiao Hai Yun once again, and finally convinced her to install surveillance at home.
In the evening, Meng Ming Wei managed to get through to Li Cheng Zhi on the phone and informed him about the surveillance installation. This made Li Cheng Zhi suddenly feel guilty and worried that Meng Ming Wei might have installed surveillance at their home as well.
