Islands ep 20 recap/spoilers

Episode 20 recap: Li Yi Jin and Meng Ming Wei completely broke off their relationship and changed their behavior.

After the rift with Meng Ming Wei, Li Yi Jin underwent a transformation. Meng Ming Wei waited at the entrance of the taekwondo gym and, upon Liao Zhe's arrival, began pestering him. She created a scene, causing a commotion in the gym, insisting on making everyone aware of what a scumbag Liao Zhe was. Liao Zhe couldn't reason with Meng Ming Wei, so he had to bring Li Yi Jin into the situation. However, after Meng Ming Wei's outburst, Li Yi Jin hurriedly went to resolve the issue.

Li Yi Jin grabbed hold of Meng Ming Wei, trying to take her away from the taekwondo gym to prevent further trouble. However, Meng Ming Wei not only refused to listen but also wanted to go online and badmouth Liao Zhe.

Due to Meng Ming Wei's actions, Liao Zhe found himself in a difficult situation. He had no choice but to confess that he and Li Yi Jin had pretended to be in a romantic relationship, which unexpectedly angered Meng Ming Wei. Upon learning that Li Yi Jin had deceived her, Meng Ming Wei became furious and publicly slapped Li Yi Jin, nearly pushing her to the brink of collapse.

Li Yi Jin felt that Meng Ming Wei had never respected her in their personal matters and had gone too far. When Meng Ming Wei heard Li Yi Jin's words, she angrily expressed that Li Yi Jin was not worthy of her respect, further provoking Li Yi Jin.

Li Yi Jin and Meng Ming Wei had a big argument, after which Li Yi Jin ran back home, packed Meng Ming Wei's belongings, and wanted to immediately send her back home. Meng Ming Wei stubbornly argued with Li Yi Jin, blaming her for going too far. She even refused to admit any wrongdoing for publicly slapping Li Yi Jin. This became unbearable for Li Yi Jin.

Li Yi Jin wrote an IOU, promising to gradually repay Meng Ming Wei everything she owed her, in the hope that Meng Ming Wei would leave her. However, Meng Ming Wei was hurt by Li Yi Jin's words. She tore up the IOU and left with her luggage.

Li Yi Jin knew that it was not easy for Meng Ming Wei to raise her all by herself and that she couldn't fill the disappointment Meng Ming Wei felt toward her. Therefore, she wanted to selfishly live her own life. Before leaving, Meng Ming Wei made a phone call to Meng Yi An, explaining the situation between them as mother and daughter.

Tao Shu Na called Meng Wan Qing and discussed Meng Ming Wei's preparations for her wedding with Li Yi Jin, as well as the situation with Liao Zhe. Meng Wan Qing became anxious upon hearing the news and urged Tao Shu Na to go home early and keep an eye on things, to prevent Meng Ming Wei and her mother from arguing.

After returning home, Meng Ming Wei lay on Qiao Hai Yun's lap and acted spoiled with her mother. Li Yi Jin drank heavily on her own all night and returned home intoxicated. Tao Shu Na woke her up early in the morning to inquire about Meng Ming Wei's situation.

Meng Yi An came to see Li Yi Jin early in the morning and discussed Meng Ming Wei's return and the conflicts between her and Li Yi Jin. Upon learning that Meng Ming Wei had publicly slapped Li Yi Jin, Meng Yi An could only comfort Li Yi Jin while persuading her to understand Meng Ming Wei's perspective.

Qiu Xia met with Xiao Yao, and Xiao Yao wanted Qiu Xia to forgive her. However, Qiu Xia expressed that it was not possible between them. He blamed himself for getting involved with Xiao Yao and hurting her while he hadn't let go of his past feelings. Xiao Yao's attempt to reconcile with Qiu Xia failed, so she could only offer her blessings and thanks for Qiu Xia's honesty. She requested a farewell hug from Qiu Xia.

After Meng Ming Wei left, Li Yi Jin discarded everything Meng Ming Wei had arranged for her and made a complete transformation of herself. Li Yi Jin arranged to meet Zhou Dao and put an end to their relationship, parting ways amicably. Li Yi Jin took a leave of absence to go shopping, buy clothes, and get a new hairstyle.

During the time Sun Xiao Ru was not around to protect her, Cui Bao Hui slandered her, resulting in Cui Bao Hui's wife publicly assaulting her. Sun Xiao Ru was wrongly accused by Cui Bao Hui and publicly stated her innocence, blaming Cui Bao Hui for spreading false accusations. However, nobody in the company believed her.

Liao Zhe came to see Li Yi Jin again and explained that he hadn't contacted anyone during that time. He genuinely liked Li Yi Jin and wanted to have a serious relationship with her. Li Yi Jin once again rejected Liao Zhe and insisted on being just friends, urging him not to waste his time on her.

As soon as Meng Ming Wei returned home, she started taking care of things at Qiao Hai Yun's house. When she saw Meng Wan Qing delivering takeout to Qiao Hai Yun, she took the opportunity to scold Meng Wan Qing. Meng Wan Qing, seeing that Meng Ming Wei was angry, had a conversation with her to understand the situation, realizing that they had been arguing fiercely.

Tao Shu Na returned after being stood up and noticed that Li Yi Jin had completely changed from head to toe. They had a conversation about their respective troubles. Tao Shu Na expressed her unhappiness for not being able to go on a date with Zhang Xiao Yan and her envy of his involvement in the project. She wanted to excel like Zhang Xiao Yan.

Upon hearing Tao Shu Na's words, Li Yi Jin felt that Tao Shu Na had a strong personality and self-confidence, which she lacked. Tao Shu Na praised Li Yi Jin for always seeing the good in others but not in herself, and advised her not to be too self-deprecating.

Qiu Xia and Xiao Yao officially broke up, and Qiu Xia couldn't conveniently go to pick up Qiu Qiu. Instead, Meng Yi An was sent, and they discussed whether to switch Qiu Qiu to a different dance class. When Meng Yi An went to pick up Qiu Qiu, he saw Xiao Yao saying goodbye to her and realized that Xiao Yao was planning to quit her job.
